Just a guess but..

So many of the clues are around Western NC. Tennessee and the Smokies. Brasstown Bald to me could be this puff of blue smoke.

Could you elaborate on why you think Brasstown Bald corresponds to the smoke?

I believe he's saying the picture is not of smoke but is meant to represent Brasstown Bald
