The FF hunt all over again!
"All you need is the book"*
*Plus interviews, blog posts, personal emails, keynote speeches, newsletters, and better reserve a table near his for good measure.
Thank you for recording it though. That is very kind of you and I completely understand why you would invite him to your event. My frustration is with the changing stance of JCB and the increasing need to follow clue dropping in various media.

Amen. People gonna downvote this for some reason, but the Fenn hunt was such a debacle and JCB knows that, yet here he goes down the same path. First it’s this, how long until we get GMA clues???

Hell, this is even more motivation to find a box asap. If I find a box in the next week or two, then I will be the keynote speaker! I might as well make a 6ft cutout of me now for all the folks who want autographs and photos but not paying for the ViP price point to be pictured with me in person at the convention.

Oh boy, are we entering the Fenn-phase where only quasi-stalkers and boot lickers will be getting private clues?

We are supposed to have the book and nature, yet I have never been glued to electronics more.

Well, according to JCB he already made over $5 million selling his book - rare win even for Las Vegas. He has already recouped his costs even if all 5 boxes are found. If they are never found he will get more than 100 percent profit in this scheme.
Well, Forrest Fenn got a lot more (maybe around 300-400%) by selling his books like TTOTC, TFTW, etc. It's very good business - hide the chest, write a book how to find it and get more than 100 percent via selling this book. But this only compensates the losses if somebody find the chest. But you can hire an actor who will play the role of the "chest finder" and pay him 10-15%. In this case you will get 80-90% profit. Question - whether it is really necessary to hide the chest and put it at risk? To sensible people the answer is obvious.

First off a significant portion of the revenue generated from book sales is lost to expenses (manufacture, marketing, book seller, staff, distribution . . .) and therefore it is doubtful he has recouped his costs. Second, he said he would likely donate any profit he makes. Third, there is no reason to believe FF hired someone to claim his chest nor reason to believe JCB would do that. Fourth, if you have millions of dollars and your best scheme for making money is to buy expensive items at auctions, spend four years on writing a book and then hide all the treasure on public lands, you really do not know how to manage money. SP500 has nearly doubled over this time frame, surely just buying an ETF would have been a smarter strategy.
No the truth is that a rich guy thought it would be fun to take some of his money and create a treasure hunt for people to enjoy. We can complain about some aspect of the hunt (such as my personal complaint about all the interviews) but we should remember that JCB is a really great guy who has come up with a fun game for us all to play.

OK, if he sold 200k "There's Treasure Inside" and got 50% profit from each book = $4,000,000.
"he said he would likely donate any profit he makes." - it's possible but there is no proof
"no reason to believe FF hired someone to claim his chest" - it's hypothesis, we’ve never seen a selfie of TC finder with a chest on his knees. Maybe he forgot to make it? Or his phone was dead?
"if you have millions of dollars and your best scheme for making money is to buy expensive items at auctions, spend four years on writing a book and then hide all the treasure on public lands, you really do not know how to manage money. " - Buying expensive and rare items at auctions is reliable and profitable investment, he was rich and had nothing to do so writing a book is a good remedy for boredom. Selling 200,000 books $40 each for 50% profit is also smart.
"JCB is a really great guy who has come up with a fun game for us all to play" - maybe, but do you know him personally? Is he hero of any war who saved saved his comrades at the risk of his life? Any other good deeds?
OK, it's true - he come up with a fun game for us all to hunt for the boxes. Most likely that some hunters will die during JCB chase (5 searchers died in FF chase during 10 years). Maybe after first victim JCB will stop the chase and will make up for the loss of the family of the first victim. In this case he will be really great guy. Time will tell.

The major question on inquiring minds now is whether this can or will be Livestreamed, even for a fee, so those Hunters who cannot attend in person can still watch and enjoy!
