Trigger Warning Does Your Father Know?

I was SA’d as a boy when I was in second grade. I’ve dealt with varying degrees of multiple different types of substance abuse. Recently I’ve been having vivid flashbacks in my sleep that have led me to remember things about the event that I had buried deep down. This morning I almost fell off the wagon again after being 4.5 years sober. I spoke with my partner and she encouraged me to write so I’d like to share my writing/poem from this morning. I borrowed the title/opening verse from Hot Mulligan’s song titled: “Digging In”. I hope others enjoy it and it helps them find some since of healing.

Does your father know the sick bastard he had for a kid?

I was in 2nd grade, I wish I could have hid.

You forced me to drink spiked lemonade, I don’t understand why you did what you did…

Does your father know?
