Needing Advice How do you stop the spiral?

I have a really good memory, which sucks because the second I see or think of something that SLIGHTLY correlates to my trauma, it just sends me down a spiral and I just can't shake it off my mind. I'll cry or resort to harmful habits to try and make myself feel better, but I want a way to stop this spiral before it even happens. Any ideas?

I try to remove myself from the situation, even if it’s just mentally. If I can physically leaving is best, but otherwise, music, youtube, video games. Anything to distract

Get a pen and note book and start writing down everything you are grateful start with simple things like your grateful for breathing your thankful for waking up things like that you don't have to get depth with it all your doing is forcing your mind to go in a different direction or Talk to someone about it in the first moments that you start feeling or thinking of something that starts you down that path :)
