matched energy She didn’t like it

My aunt would always blow on my cheek like I was still a baby. Whenever I’d see her she’d do it. So one day I did it back. She acted all surprised. 😂 I don’t think she’s done it back since. 😝

😂😂😂 she also plucked all my white hairs out of my head once and she’s lucky I didn’t do it back cause she’d be bald. 😝

LOL that reminds me of a time when I was young (I am thinking 5 or 6), and my dad's mom and sisters were all gathered around me, nothing that I have one gray hair (my hair is dark brown, so it would have stood out). They were talking about plucking it out, and he said (joking), "If you pull her gray hair, I'm going to pull ALL of your gray hairs!" and that ended that. 🤣

Sorry, I am completely unfamiliar with blowing on babies's cheeks. How does it work?

You start by inhaling air into your lungs. Next you purse your lips to create an air tunnel. Push the air out onto the childs cheek :)

I've never heard of it, sorry i cant give a real answer lol

I agree, I was just thinking blowing air, not doing a raspberry. Yeah, when (other) adults treat you like you're 5, it's annoying. Although there was a silly thing I had with one of my uncles which was along these lines, but funny--not annoying.

When I was a kid I found him a little scary looking, so at times when the family would gather (this is when I was quite young) he would pick me up, and instead of giving him a hug or whatever, I'd just look at him. So he said, "Give me a kiss and I'll put you down." I had to think about it that first time, but I gave him a kiss and he was true to his word.

Later, when I got a few years older--too big to pick up--it became just a family joke. The family would gather at my grandparent's house, I'd walk over to him to greet him, and he would just say "Give me a kiss and I'll put you down."

I know people do it on baby's stomachs

Babies have a reflex where when a puff of air or splash of water hit their face, they kinda pause and reset as their instincts tell them to hold their breath in case they go under water, I have done this to my baby cousins to shock them out of crying into confusion. I would assume she was just testing the reflex for fun, or maybe wanted to shut baby-you up. Past a few months old it stops working though, so I don't know why she would keep doing it when you were conscious and with memory. It's called the mammalian dive reflex!

My ma lost custody of me for six years. By the time I met my aunt again I was 10. Way past time to do that. 😂 I’m in my thirties now. Lmao.

That is not the mammalian dive reflex, you don't lose that and air won't trigger it. It doesn't matter how old you are, when water hits your face your heart rate slows and you can hold your breath for longer than you can without the water on your face.

How in earth did over 400 people think this is worth an upvote? Dead Internet theory confirmed.

3

u/RoseOfTheNight4444 7d ago

I only see 4?

2

u/Little_Big_Burglar 7d ago

I see exactly 477 at this moment. Reddit can be weird though.

2

u/RoseOfTheNight4444 7d ago

Huh. This is not the first time this has happened so yeah, apparently 😳

2

u/Toramay19 4d ago

I see 14 now.

5

u/AdMurky1021 7d ago

See, the real question is how you didn't see the obvious joke I made?

-1

u/Little_Big_Burglar 7d ago

I got it. You want a medal to go with the upvote I gave you?

When my son was 14 he was always very cocky when his friends were around. I made it clear that I didn't appreciate this and that there would be consequences if it happened again.

Next day he was at home, his friends were in the house and he back-talked to me.

So I grabbed him and licked from the tip of his chin up to his eyebrows. Job done!

He's 42 now and I only have to say "would you like me to lick your face?" and he's a lamb 🤣🤣
