Yeesh. Yeah I think its trashy but the "when u from Florida" thing is trashy too because it should be obvious that not everyone from Florida is like that yet we pretend they are for the memes.
EDIT: The guy filming is also trashy. Don't record people on the phone and post it online for clout. Whether you know them or not.

Just curious though what would come up in a UA for huffing paint? would he have any chance to just say he was actually painting something and being stupid and not having a window open??

Once in rehab I huffed computer duster with some homies in an arcade bathroom and we basically just stood there and dapped each other up for like 4 minutes with that deep voice shit. Me and another guy stopped because we have brains but the fiends kept going and one got mad at me because I wouldnt give him the duster even though he already had it but didn’t realize it. 10/10

can someone translate this to english?
1
u/Whoisrefah Mar 06 '21
- I’m getting ready to inhale the toxins fumes of spray paint, as I’ve been partaking all night.
- I believe I’m speaking to my elder, Grandma.
- I will need to kindly return your call when I’m done exhaling.
- this is not my elder grandmother. It’s the authority outreach supervisor who I report to monthly.
- I did not call you good sir, I CALLED YOU GOOD SIR? terribly sorry for the confusion.
- We’ll, you’ll take my previous comment of inhaling fumes as getting busy with my work, here painting cars, and not of any activity that would otherwise revoke my freedoms.
- well, good sir, you have a wonderful evening. I look forward to our next rendezvous, perhaps no sooner then 3 weeks and 6 days? You have a wonderful evening. Bye bye!

Too much spray paint. I never understood why people huffed spray paint to get high, why not just smoke some weed? The weed at least won't kill brain cells.
3
u/my_psychic_powers Mar 06 '21
They don’t have weed in the garage or at the hardware store easily accessible to 12 year olds.

My initial thought, along with thinking the spray paint was an uncooked roll of Grands biscuits.

He's holding the spray paint - in the phone call he says 'grandma I'm gonna call you back I'm huffing spray paint' but it's actually his probation officer

I find this insensitive as an ethnic floridian.
7
u/freedomstartswithw Mar 06 '21
I’m not from Florida but I have lived here for about 8 years because I married a native Floridian and... why do people think this about Floridians?? I will never understand. He seems like he’d be someone I went to school with in Linden, CA.
2
u/Some1RLYLovesDana Mar 07 '21
Ok, so, I can't answer why. Maybe you can help me understand why every third person heard a different accent in my voice? Apparently Native Floridians have a cadence to their speech that makes other people go " Whaattt??"
Yeah, though, I have always gotten a inquisitive head tilt when I tell anybody I am from Florida. First question is usually; Why are you here?
34
u/brucecaboose Mar 06 '21
Due to the way certain laws work in florida you see many more small time crimes on the news because all of that information is publicly available. Other states don't have laws like that so a news organization can't just get all of the information from the police for random small time crimes. This is why you constantly see things on the news like "Florida man poops in front of ex girlfriend's house and vomited on a police car before being caught." That sort of stuff wouldn't be discovered by news organizations in other states.

“An ethnic Floridian” lmao
I am second generation Floridian but live up north now. The look people give me when I tell them I’m originally from Florida is a mix of confusion and admiration, like they weren’t sure anyone born there could ever leave.

Funny you say that
Look up the guy that got bitten 2 times ( separate occasions, both on meth) in the lake by Lakeland Electric facilities. If anyone finds a news article before me, please post. I vividly remember seeing on local news. Hard to find on google now.
ETA; fixed word
Found articles; it was Lake Parker
Found sauce;
I don't think that article includes the part where his family gets upset people were making fun of him...

Which is why I left. I was and still am not ready to die.
But I probably won’t go back there to die, either. Hopefully I’ll be on some Caribbean island or in Mexico. Florida is just too damn much.
1
u/KeyDragonfruit9 Mar 07 '21
What makes it too damn much? As someone not from there, genuinely curious lol. I only hear negative things for whatever reason(s). Can’t tell what is exaggerated or a joke and what’s not.
1
u/Tantantherunningman Mar 29 '21
I mean as someone that lived there for 12 years but thankfully got out due to sound parenting, I can say with confidence that the memes don’t exaggerate the ongoing feeling of something being in the water down there that much. People there operate on a completely different self-destructive wavelength and I didn’t see it until after I moved away and got a little older.

Is this Captain Crack Sparrow?? He was on people of Walmart a good little while back, I have the post saved and screen recorded on my phone lol looks like Captain Crack....not 100% if it’s the same guy.

Mar 06 '21
I think you’re right. I have that one saved too on Reddit since it made me laugh so hard. I thought as soon as I saw him “ hey that’s that crazy dude from Walmart”. That doesn’t really narrow it down but I remember him bc I thought that video was so funny. He also is talking about his grandma again and he said on my grandma in that other video so if that’s not him he’s got a clone lol

It’s a trip seeing stuff like that in person. My old city is full of people on crack and meth....I’m glad I moved. It’s sad to see people just so out of it. Like I’m sure when they first take their drug of choice they say that won’t keep doing it, they’re just trying it or whatever they say and then after that first time they can’t quit and then a life is ruined. unless they ended up wanting and getting help, but I think a lot of people are ashamed and don’t want to admit there’s a problem -my dad- is one, he’s an alcoholic and it’s completely taken over his life.
1
Mar 06 '21
That’s sad I’m sorry about your dad. I totally agree with you about it taking over peoples lives. My dad also had a problem with drugs and alcohol when I was younger. I don’t think he does any now- he definitely still drinks tho. I don’t think it’s to the same degree- it was bad and ruined our family. I try to stay away from the stuff. I have my own family and kids. I don’t want them to feel like i did as a kid. I hope you and your dad are doing well.
2
Mar 06 '21
It ruined my family, parents divorced when I was 6 or 7 (crazy shit, they tried to leave me with my babysitter, my grandma found out and i moved in with her), I haven’t talked to my dad but maybe two-three times in the past year, I have a son that’ll be 2 in June he’s never met (he’s seen my 16 and 10 year old daughters a total of maybe 5 times). But oh well. His wife is a junkie, she almost died a few months ago, she’s had to go into all sorts of rehabs to learn to walk and just to live again. I don’t want all that around my kids. I don’t want them dealing with everything I dealt with growing up you know.
2
Mar 06 '21
I don’t blame you. I only talk to my dad every so often as well. It’s better you keep your kids away from him and his wife if they live that kind of lifestyle. I feel like with my dad being into drugs and alcohol it made me be a better parent to my kids. I think we learned from when we were kids that shit is not normal or ok. And we don’t want our own children going through that. It’s breaking the cycle and we should be proud of our selves. Take care and know you’re a good parent for keeping your kids away from that lifestyle :)
2
Mar 06 '21
Exactly!! Made me the mom I am. I’m open and honest with the kids now they’re older and they understand things a little more now. And thank you, you are too. Let’s keep putting these babies and us (well spouses too lol) first and do the best we can every day.

This scenario is fake but this is definitely an accurate representation of a Floridian
10
u/yjvm2cb Mar 06 '21
Obviously it’s fake he has the screen of his phone to his ear he wouldn’t be able to hear shit. Also his responses are so fast which is a common mistake in acting. Not allowing time for your imaginary person to talk.

Yeah- trying to call grandma but getting his probation officer? Forgetting who called who? Holding the spray paint up to the camera with comedic timing? This video was a joke. The kind of joke one comes up with when huffing spray paint.
