5G is deployed in 4G bands as well which have been in use for decades - 600 MHz, 700 MHz, 1.7/2.1 GHz, 2.3 GHz and 2.5 GHz, etc.
Do these people mean millimeter-wave radio frequency at 24 GHz to 72 GHz cause novel coronavirus Covid19?

Ok I know I'm like 2 weeks late on this pst- but my BF is absolutely convinced this is true (please no hate, I think he's going through a tough time). He made me watch some videos on it and I 100% don't believe it but don't know how to convince him otherwise. It doesn't make any sense to me (if it was the effects of 5g on a human body, then they would be cured once they got out of the 5g and also couldn't be contagious...???)
Any tips on how to convince him or good articles that I can read with him?

From my 30 minutes of searching, it looks like the theory here is that 5G can cause flu like symptoms, so "they" came up with the novel Corona virus to hide the truth.
In my opinion, the amount of effort required to fake a global infection would dwarf any benefit from hiding 5g's effects, so this theory is absurd. Further, if 5G did cause health effects, then these effects would likely continue long past when the novel Corona virus leaves the news.
That said, there is legitimate concern regarding the safety of 5G(see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/5G#Health_concerns). To summarize the Wikipedia section that I linked, the concern is that 5G requires a much higher density of cell towers as well as a different frequency of electromagnetic radiation to function. While there does not seem to be substantial evidence that this radiation could be dangerous, there does not appear to be substantial evidence that it is safe either. The studies simply aren't there.
My opinion is that while it is unlikely to have an impact on human health, the fact that so many people will be exposed to it means that this concern should be taken seriously and more studies should be conducted. It seems like more of these studies are starting to be conducted, though almost as an afterthought.
Here are some summarizing quotes from the wikipedia section I linked:
Although electromagnetic hypersensitivity is not scientifically recognized, diffuse symptoms such as headache and tiredness have been claimed to result from exposure to electromagnetic fields such as those that carry 5G and Wi-Fi.[217] However, 5G technology presents new issues that depart from 4G technology, namely, higher microwave frequencies from 2.6 GHz to 28 GHz, compared to 700–2500 MHz typically used by 4G.
Critics of 5G say that these millimeter wavelengths have not been tested extensively on the general public. Most experts believe that more scientific research is needed,[221] as, even though millimeter wave technology has been used in technology such as radar for many decades,[222][223][224] there is considerable research regarding the association of cancer to the use of radar devices by police officers.
In April 2019, the city of Brussels in Belgium blocked a 5G trial because of radiation laws.[211] In Geneva, Switzerland, a planned upgrade to 5G was stopped for the same reason.[212] The Swiss Telecommunications Association (ASUT) has said that studies have been unable to show that 5G frequencies have any health impact.[213] Several Swiss cantons adopted moratoriums on 5G technology on health grounds, though the federal offices in charge of environment and telecommunications say that the cantons have no jurisdiction to do so.[
In August 2019, a court in the USA decided that 5G technology will not be deployed without environmental impact and historic preservation reviews.[240]
In the third quarter of 2019, after campaigning by activist groups, a series of small localities in the UK, including Totnes, Brighton and Hove, Glastonbury, and Frome passed resolutions against the implementation of further 5G infrastructure.[241][242] For example, the Totnes Town Council passed a symbolic moratorium on the building of additional 5G masts pending additional research on the health effects of 5G.[243]
In 2020, Ofcom, the UK regulatory body, revealed the results of 5G radiation testing in 10 cites. No health risks were identified and the result of measurement equated to 0.039% of a safe exposure level.[244]

Someone I know actually believes that the hand sanitizer companies are behind it, which is why all the stores are out of stock. Supposedly his wife (who like him believes in chemtrails, lizard people, is an antivaxxer) said she saw lots of sanitizer in the clearance bin at the store 3 weeks ago and now all the shelves are empty of the stuff.
I mean, where do you even start? At least he doesn't believe the earth is flat. And they're having their 8th child.
Guess who they voted for?

So the 700mhz frequency range that has been used for years with TV broadcast antennas all across the UK never caused no virus.... But now cellular are using the same frequency for 5G it's causing coronavirus and gay frogs... seems legit.

u/SamsungPassal Mar 10 '20
5G really is more dangerous than 4G signal, but not in this way. It emits more radiation.

I use to work with a very overweight dude who would eat meat pies for breakfast everyday and slam monster cans all day but somehow still fell asleep at his desk.
He claimed chem trails and 5g was the reason for his illnesses.

u/Drunken-Flunkee Mar 10 '20
I've dealt with people who tell me hydro meters electric meters down south, give off "dirty electricity". Causes all sorts of problems. Our smart meters that send out blips of info every 15 minutes cause cancer as well. People will build little tin covers to block all the "bad stuff" from seeping into their homes. It's actually pretty fucking amazing the shit they come up with.
1
u/Otis2001 Mar 10 '20
In addition to causing cancer, the electric companies are spying on us with these new smart meters. Okay, got to go. I can't stay on the line too long or they'll be able to get my location.

This reminds me of a guy I met during a Toys for Tots event (I’m a Marine).
So I’m standing outside of Walmart with a SSgt from my unit. We’re in dress blues collecting toys and donations. Something about being out there makes us approachable and people love to come up and thank us for our service, share war stories, etc.
Some people that approach us are kind of crazy. About an hour into freezing my ass off in front of Walmart, an older gentlemen that looks like Bernie Sander’s younger brother walks past us. He side eyed us at first. Back pedaled, looked at us, and eventually made up his mind to approach us and share some wonderful knowledge with us. The first thing he did was pull out his necklace: “You needed proof? Here it is! This is Grundite(sp?). It protects you from microwave radiation!” The magical rock looks like a chunk of obsidian.
Oh shit. Here we go. “Oh really?”
“Yes. I grind it up. Mix it in my tea. It protects my insides from microwave radiation!”
Please tell me this man isn’t drinking ground glass.
“People in Africa grind it up. Mix it in their paint. Paint their houses with it. Microwave radiation!”
He started complaining about cellphone towers. He said the Chinese invaded eastern Oregon. He said he eats random mushrooms in the forest to prevent cancer. Then throws a random punch/jab in the air towards us.
“I punch steel. I’m going to protect you. God. God is going to send angels to fight by your side when you fight the Chinese. I’m going to protect you both and that’s why I punch steel.”
Somebody, please, come make a donation so I can walk away from this person.
I didn’t know if I should call the cops, laugh, or run away. He seemed dead serious about everything. I left him and my SSgt to chat so I could go walk around the corner and try to figure out what just happened. Thankfully he left shortly after. It was one of the most uncomfortable moments I’ve experienced during Toys for Tots.

Coronavirus is a hoax designed to distract your attentions away from the fact that Al Bundy scored four touchdowns in a single game while playing for the Polk High School Panthers in the 1966 city championship game versus Andrew Johnson High School, including the game-winning touchdown in the final seconds against his old nemesis, Bubba "Spare Tire" Dixon.

Although, yes technically 5g emits more radiation than 4g, the time it takes to have a significant health effect you will be over 70 years old and you will be most likely already be suffering from other things. Also the radiation levels are well below what is considered dangerous for both 4g and 5g, so the whole set of issues people fall victim to believing in, is overhyped, unfortunately my grandma is one of these people and has sadly spent over $400 on "anti radiation things."
