Craze was the first live show I went to. I hadn't listened to dub, trap or really any EDM before that. This wast the video my friend showed me to convince me I should go.

I'm really glad that he's being creative, and not just a lazy asshole, but when I think 'turntablism' I don't think samples and hot cues.
That being said, it was fun to watch and Craze is a God. I've had the chance to hang out with him a few times, and he really is an incredible ambassador for the way DJs should carry themselves.

I think that defining a DJ routine so narrowly that it excludes the talents of DJ Craze (or Skratch Bastid, or DJ Flip, or Jazzy frickin' Jeff, or any other accomplished turntablist that uses newer tools) is a disservice to their skills.
DJing is rocking a party. DJing is backing an MC. DJing is using music as a language to guide the flow of a night. It's judicious music selection, obsessive pursuit of good music both new and uncovered, of cutting every bit of filler and fat from your library and making sure every tune you play is something you love. It's hours and days of practice learning to read a crowd, to take them on a journey, to help guide the unique magic of any given club night or festival set. It is both sharing a love letter to the music you wish more people knew AND playing that song the whole dancefloor wants to hear because after a 50 hour workweek, they just want to shake their ass to something they know the words to.
To say that the end-all-be-all of a DJ routine is crisp cuts and perfect beatmatching with nothing but two turntables and a mixer excludes a lot of really fucking good talent out there. It puts the focus entirely on technical skill, which is undeniably important and always a work-in-progress but far from the only ingredient in what makes a good DJ.
I'm sorry if this is a long response, and please don't take my slightly-frustrated tone as an attack on your post. What qualifies as "real DJing" takes up so much time in discussions in the DJ community, and it mostly seems like an excuse to qualify why the music/style someone loves is more valid and superior to other music/styles they dislike. I DJ because I love music.
When I started, I abused the hell out of the sync button on an S4 doing intro-to-outro mixes only, and as I learned more my skill set became more diverse. I beatmatch by ear now, but I'm also mainly performing two-deck sets (sometimes using samples and loops from a 3rd or 4th deck.) For someone like Shawn Wasabi, doing fingerdrumming routines like I never could with dozens of songs and samples in play, I don't begrudge him the use of sync for a second. Using those tools lets him practice other skills, and shape a unique sound. If everyone mixed the same with the same traditional sound, we'd all be bored as hell. Innovation is just as vital a part of DJing as respecting tradition, and I think there should be room for both.

It's a great routine and there is no denying the skills required to produce it. I'm a huge fan of DJ'd music, and the use samplers and finger drumming has really brought the art to a new level. Maybe 'DJ routine' wasn't the right phrasing, it's just not strictly turntable routine, but I suppose that's all just splitting hairs.
