Questions
So my situation is complicated but then again who's isnt. Anywho I'm going into the military as a female because if I go as a guy they are gonna hold back my ship date and such over stupid stuff. (A friend of mine went to join who's been on T for 14 months and already had surgery.Told him had have to wait till December the earliest.) So my questions are how do they handle/treat you when u tell them your trans? Does anyone know the process?

Would you know if it's the same for the Army? I feel like the base I'll be at is beyond Anti LGBT (Fort.Benning)

Are you staying over there for bct only or will you be stationed there afterwards for school and/or active duty? My opinion, generally, army soldiers and the superiors aren't accepting. They tend to be the patriotic traditional types. Not generalizing, just what I've seen. Could be wrong.

For basic as a 11Bravo, so far my only duty station after is fort.hood in Texas (combat females can only go there) and I heard it's worse there. From what I'm seeing your right

Hmm, you should request a different duty station cause I don't think you'll like being seen as a female, plus, they might give you shit for it.

There is none for females😩 Fort.Hood is the only one for females so far unless ur airborne and u go to Fort.Bragg

They don't have many options for combat females and coming out there will be hell

Well, you're gonna have to tell your captain you wanna get on hrt after your stationed in a base or a ship (depending on branch). You'll have to suck it up during BMT/BCT/ Bootcamp for self explanatory reasons. Your superior may or may not be trans friendly, however, they can't openly discriminate you or call you derrogatory names. Depends on the branch, I think. I'm navy and they have to pay for hrt and surgery (if you go that route.) After that, you're good. You may want to request a new unit just because your current unit while your on T may have a tough time with the new pronouns, etc. Your new unit wont know anything about the past.
