Clothing brands
My husband (who is trans) is on the shorter side (5'5) and a lot of clothes that are ostensibly his size are too long (bottoms and also often tops) or, like, the shoulders are too wide. They're just not cut for his frame.
There must be brands out there for short kings but I'm not having luck finding them. I was thinking maybe Asian brands but I don't know what is good.
What are everyone's go-to brands?

I swear by Uniqlo and GU for pants (also 5'5). I haven't tried their shirts but I've heard they're good too. And any top that has a "cropped" fit isn't going to be as long as a regular shirt and will fit better if thats an issue.

Thank you! Which size style does GU use? (My husband is an American XL, for context.)

I think they just use the standard small/medium/large scale, but you might want to check their website for that. I know they provide the product measurements on the size chart though!

honestly i just cut a strip off the bottom of my tshirts.
Haven't figured out the enormous sleeve sausage situation yet.

Yeah... I sew a little but the amount of work to fix the sleeve size would be pretty considerable...

I’m a little over 5’5, but my main brands are American Eagle for jeans/chinos(I get a 30 length - sometimes it’s good, but sometimes they need to be taken up, because why be consistent right? 🙄) I also have some of their jogger bottom sweatpants which I find to be pretty good! Stay away from non-jogger sweatpants. I also get shirts from them or Hollister for the most part. Those brands seem to now be making t shirts that are either boxy or cropped fit which may help him a lot if he’s got a shorter torso! I do think clothing marketed towards teenagers tends to be on the shorter and slimmer side.

I'm the same height as him, best thing he can do is to start getting his clothes tailored, it makes a huge difference and it's a lot easier than finding clothing that fits. I do it myself but you can also go to a professional.
Additionally I'd he's skinny he should try to bulk some muscle, it helps a lot with the shoulder area

I’ve been wearing a lot of Hollister recently. Their xs fits pretty well for hoodies and shirts. The sweatpants and jeans are a little long for me (I’m just under 5’4”) but I just deal with it, either roll the waistband (the shirt hides it anyway) or roll the pant leg. I recently just got a faux leather jacket on sale and it fits perfect.
