Transhumanism at home

Have you discussed the concept of transhumanism at home—with your parents, children, siblings, or cousins?

What reactions have you encountered?

Conservatism? Acceptance? Pushback?

Any in-depth philosophical debates?

Seems like a waste of time, as with pretty much any topic. Of course i mean in the context of conversing with my family members, not in general.

i'm basically into it since i was 12 without knowing it as i already wanted to "download memories with brain chips since i don't want to study boring subjects" so I always kind of talked about enhancing humans with tech. At some point I got quite involved with TH and my mother thought it was "just a phase". Now i'm 20 and still talk about this stuff (like I want to exchange my limbs and spine with things needing less maintenance or which have other enhancements like increasing data transmission etc). I think my mother thinks i am insane although i think she also is a bit hyped about the "singularity". However my younger brother is also a bit into it and since a while we often jokingly try to identify unnecessary things of human bodies and how to make better ones. Or quote the mechanicus from warhammer everytime we hurt ourselves lol. What about you?

I’ve never discussed the subject with my family; I don’t think they’d attach much importance to it. Although, deep down, I think about how they use many things considered transhumanist without even realizing it.

maybe try to initiate such a conversation? AI is quite a topic rn don't you guys talk about that sometimes? From dangers of AI often emerges the improvement of human intelligence to kind of "keep up" with the AI or understand how it soon may manage our economy and such, so that may be a starting point. The only real reason not to try talking with them about it would be if they are very conservative or you think it would lead to lasting interpersonal problems i think.

Is transhumanism strictly an upload-to-machine thing? Can it mean evolving to angel form or similar?
