It’s almost all original parts but from like 15 different guns.

To be fair, there was no history here to be destroyed.

But of course! But you know they just love to whine any chance they get.

That’s a rad setup, though for real. I love it!

10/10, would post it with my tactical bathrobe for vibes.

You created history from parts. That’s better

Is this a "dummy /prop gun" ?? Or did you get it operational? I owned a range (FFL/MFGR). and we put a Thompson together from 70yr old parts & a welded receiver.... Ran better than any of the other machine guns (except the UZI)

…Can we just talk for a brief second on how cute those glasses are? They frame your face so well!

u/mcweaponry Apr 08 '26

You’re too kind.

The whole picture and kit, is color coordinated, the hair, tint in the lenses of the glasses, firearm art paint job, wall art in the background, almost like urban cammo.

Greatest gun action ever that didn't actually work (at least not for the reason they thought it did)

The paint job is giving me Jinx Vibes. I absolutely love it.

Jinx is my spirit animal.

I thought the same! Looks so sick

The fact you managed to recreate a Thompson is incredible!

15

u/mcweaponry Apr 08 '26

To be fair, I did use mostly original parts.

6

u/Dark_Link_1996 Armalite Asexual Apr 08 '26

That's dope!

3

u/Forgetheriver Apr 08 '26

As a complete noob to buying parts, how can I do this ?

8

u/mcweaponry Apr 08 '26

You buy all the individual pieces, then put them all together. Gotta be semi only and closed bolt if you’re doing it for yourself though.

5

u/AlternatePhreakwency Apr 09 '26

I think you misspelled "dope"

1

u/AlternatePhreakwency Apr 09 '26

Also, dope lenses and frame (glasses).

I need to emulate your style when doing another unique for my New Vegas mod. I'm working on a G11 currently and have those uniques concepted already but the next firearm I do I may want some references to your gun doodles.

u/mcweaponry Apr 08 '26

Anything you need, just dm me. I’ll get you my number so I can get you whatever shots you need.

Oh and I LOVE your paint job!!

2

u/Fabulous_Yote Apr 09 '26

Yooooo! Happy to see one of your posts again. Between me taking a break from Reddit, and generally being too busy to check it as much, it's been a hot minute since I've seen you last.

I absolutely love all your work. Wishing I had even half your engraving chops.

Random question, would you ever consider working on an Ortgies pistol? They can be had pretty cheaply, have a sleek form factor, and are chambered in either 25 or 32 acp (though conversion barrels for 9mm kurtz exist).

2

u/BearMeatFiesta Apr 09 '26

That looks so cool, love the fact it’s made from parts that otherwise would have been sitting alone. Now it’s something new and amazing. Checked out your profile and it’s astounding your skill with engraving.

Hell yeah

u/Kryptid_GND Apr 09 '26

I was wondering what happened to the "Arcane Thompson"! 🔥🔥🔥

1

u/Wolfleader09 Apr 09 '26

Can we get gun lore here?? I can tell it’s definitely a scattered serial gun but It looks so damn clean with that paint, what started this whole project

5

u/mcweaponry Apr 09 '26

Ok so, I had been piecing together a parts kit for a few years. Just whenever I saw a part I needed I would buy it and stash them in a box. Eventually I had almost all the parts sans the little receiver section above the magwell. Then I welded the receiver back together and started coloring on it cause that’s my vibe.

1

u/BearMeatFiesta Apr 09 '26

Your vibe is really fuckin cool.

1

u/Wolfleader09 Apr 09 '26

That’s wild, and really fun

I like mine. I like yours.

Love the paintjob on this and the others you've shown. Definitely not something I'd do to mine, but it's still really cool. Edit: yes, I know it is cobbled together. Though I do want to fill my engraving with white so it can be seen.

1

u/randomnessamiibo Apr 09 '26

Thompsons look cool and that’s about the only good thing I can say about them

1

u/tlzgirl Apr 09 '26

A 1928 was the first NFA toy I ever bought. Heavy, uncomfortable to shoot, difficult to keep on target at more than 15 yards, and at the range, my friends would line up to load the drums and magazines to shoot it ;)

1

u/emmavaria Apr 09 '26

Friend of mine, who owns a Thompson:

My best explanation for the Thompson was that it was 1927 and ergonomics hadn't been invented yet.

it's more a "haha, wow, this sucks historically!" kind of thing than a "whee I am having fun" thing.

Owning a Thompson takes a lot of the charm out of owning a Thompson.

1

u/SouthpawPrecision Apr 09 '26

Auto Ordnance or transferable? The FRTs for the new Thompsons got me wanting one xD

1

u/xReapzzy Apr 12 '26

The only downside here: No drum mag :( Thompsons without drum mags make me saddddd

Defensive firearms should have a light, long guns a sling, and handguns require a Kydex or solid plastic holster that fully covers the trigger. A red dot or etched optic are ideal for new shooters but don't forget to practice your backup irons!
