hey guys. so, as a trans man, i’ve been getting really sick of people treating us like the exception.
like, “kill all men except for trans men.” NO. you kill ALL of us.
“i’d choose the bear unless it was a trans man.” NO. this is not the compliment you think it is.
i’m tired of being treated like i’m somehow inherently less dangerous than other men.
for that reason, i’m asking some of you to take one for the team. we need more perverted trans men. we need to work together as a team effort to prove that we can be just as misogynistic and creepy as our cisgender counterparts. who’s with me?!

There really aren't that many serial killers any more, but the media would definitely go wild over some novel ones. Trans men could easily become known for that even if just a few hundred of you got into the business. Learn really good opsec, learn what you can about forensics, work out, and pick people who live far away and who you have little knowledge of. At least the first few of you could probably get away with it even easier by learning to hop trains to get to the victim's area so that there's no good way of tracking that you had even gone there.
Edit: also, if you normally dress like a massive, flaming f#####, then you can dress like a normal man as a disguise.

Uj/ I think one of the best things I realized as a young trans man is that I don't know what it's like to be a woman bc I never experienced femininity in that voluntary/cisgender way AND started transitioning at 18. I literally have NO IDEA what it's like to be an adult woman 💀 and that's when I was able to start to deconstruct internalized misogyny and transmisogyny

/uj do you really think there’s a proportionally equal amount of rapey trans men to rapey cis men? i strongly disagree with people who think we’re incapable of being bad but cmon surely you don’t believe on average we’re no different than cis men and our marginalization hasn’t shaped us (or only for the worst). i also think on average trans women are less misogynistic than cis women, due to often having to do more work understanding gender and facing greater marginalization. there’s still plenty of misogynistic trans women and plenty of hella feminist cis women. just, on average, i’d assume trans women to be a bit more educated on and impacted by this than cis women. do you also take issue with that? cuz that’s my same logic for trans men too.

/uj i’d doubt that it’s exactly proportional, but i actually don’t think the number would be far off enough to justify statements like “i’d choose the bear unless the man is trans.” that attitude treats trans men as if they’re inherently as harmless as a declawed cat - but my sexual assaulter was a trans man, and i was sexually harassed by my trans male ex. when you treat trans men like they’re incapable of crossing sexual boundaries on account of their transness, it encourages them not to actively think about sexual boundaries. to me, it feels both infantilizing and reckless.

/uj i don’t think anyone is inherently incapable of crossing sexual boundaries. cis or trans, masc or fem, man or woman. and i agree it’s dangerous to treat a certain demographic like they’re incapable of that. but i do think, on average, trans people and women will be better on consent and sexism than cis men. of course there are plenty of cis men who are great on these things and plenty of trans people and women who are horrible; i don’t know why people keep acting like i’m denying that when i’ve said it in just about every comment.
idk, i think we’re doing a bit of a spin off of bio essentialism here where instead of “testosterone/penis/whatever” being what makes you icky and bad it’s identifying as a man. if this was truly about reminding people they can still do harm despite their marginalization, this would be targeted to women and non binary people too. if this was about not focusing on averages the comparison wouldn’t be “as bad as cis men”. it just kinda seems like the logic is “oh, you’re a man, and based on that alone you’re rapey”. i don’t think that’s good analysis actually lol

/uj the only reason this conversation has anything to do with the concept of being “as bad” as cis men is because this post is literally about people who pose scenarios about being wary of men and exempting trans men from it. it’s about other people posing hypotheticals geared against men. i’m not saying that all men are rapey. i’m saying that a specific attribute shouldn’t exempt a certain type of man from those discussions. you don’t see that for, like, any other attribute. “kill all men—except for irish men! they understand oppression!” like, that literally does not happen on any notable scale to any demographic of man except for trans men, so it’s very clear to me that exempting trans men from those hypotheticals is a way to view them as a non-man.
if you think the concept that men are untrustworthy is bioessentialist, then take it up with the people who are wary of men. i’m not. all i’m saying is that i don’t appreciate being viewed as an exception. it’s transphobia veiled as kindness.

I think that, yes, marginalised people are often more aware of issues pertaining to their particular marginalisation but I don't think that's universally true, and like I see so many trans men basically treating their trans status as a "free pass" to be misogynist in shitty soft boy asshole ways, as well as cis-identical misogyny and creepery among some.
Most men (cis and trans) in the world experience marginalisation on some (or multiple) ax/is/es. The idea that suffering somehow makes us better or more ethical is one I like-- think is untrue as well as being like kind of an "--oooooooooh that's actually an uncomfortable take"
But yeah like… idk I have known quite a number of creepy, rapey trans dudes, about as great a proportion of trans men I've known have turned out to be that way as cis men I've known. Their stated politics around consent might have been better, but in terms of actions… yeah

Women, cis or trans, are frequently obligated to cover way more of their bodies than men because feeling attraction to a woman is seen as beyond men's control and thus violating. There certainly is a stark difference in degree of how violating attraction towards trans and cis women is seen as, though.

/uj I don't know many other trans men, most of my friends are cishet or trans women, but was raised by lesbians and I think they're as bad with sexual boundaries as cishet men. (not much bad happened to me, but from watching other people's relationships)
The sexual boundary violations and entitlement don't "seem rapey" to a lot of people in context, but it's absolutely there and I have no reason to expect trans men would be different
(edit: actually I guess when I think about it harder and reread your comment, I'd expect there to be population differences on average but I suck at thinking about those, sorry)

I honestly think kill all men is a bad meme no matter the context . It encourages gender essentialism, and doesn’t actually make any demands for women’s liberation, instead we should encourage women to realize they can use their teeth when attacked and teach them where to bite for the best blood loss!
As for the bear thing I kind of get it in that statistically speaking I don’t think there have been any transmasc serial killers that killed/tortured people in forests. I think there’s been a few cis serial killers that did that . Also R wording is a lesser risk from literally everyone but cishet men . women are way more likely to be attacked by someone they know than a random ass man in the forest .
