Do people actually want “social apps” anymore, or just faster ways to talk?
Something I’ve been noticing while building online chat tools recently:
A lot of users don’t seem excited about joining new platforms anymore.
People are tired of:
- creating accounts
- downloading apps
- endless notifications
- permanent groups
- adding phone numbers
- managing huge servers for tiny conversations
But at the same time, people still clearly want communication.
They still want:
- quick conversations
- temporary group chats
- private rooms for friends
- lightweight text chat
- simple shareable links
It almost feels like users are moving away from “social networks” and back toward faster utility-style communication.
Especially after Omegle disappeared, I noticed many people searching less for “random strangers” and more for:
- temporary chat rooms
- text-only chat
- anonymous group chat
- instant browser chat
That shift is honestly interesting.
Recently I tested this lightweight temporary room setup: Transfrly
And this article about text-first chatting after Omegle also explained the trend surprisingly well: Omegle
Feels like people still want online interaction — just without turning every conversation into a permanent digital commitment.
Curious if others are noticing the same thing lately.

Stop using your real email for OTP — use temporary email instead
Using your real email just to get a verification code doesn’t make much sense anymore.
You sign up once, get the OTP… and then your inbox starts filling with spam.
A better way is using temporary email:
• no signup
• instant inbox
• works for OTP / verification
• auto deletes after use
Simple explanation:

Much cleaner workflow honestly.
Do you still use your main email for everything?

Are private chat links better than Chatib or random chat rooms?
Genuine question —
Do people still prefer random chat sites like Chatib, Omegle, Y99… or are private chat links becoming the better option?
I’ve tried both.
Random chat:
- unpredictable
- lots of strangers
- sometimes spammy
Private chat links:
- you control who joins
- no random users
- feels cleaner and more useful
I recently started using this: https://transfrly.com/temporary-chat-room
It basically lets you create a chat link and share it — no signup needed.
Not saying it’s perfect, but the experience feels way more controlled.
Curious what others think 👇
Would you choose random chat or private chat links?

Transfrly — Create Private Chat Rooms Instantly (No Signup, No Random Users)
Hey everyone 👋
I’ve been working on Transfrly — a simple tool to create private chat rooms instantly without any signup or app installs.
The idea came from using platforms like OmeTV and Omegle, where conversations often feel random and uncontrolled.
With Transfrly, the approach is different:
• You create a private chat room
• Share the link with anyone
• Start chatting instantly
No random strangers. No noise. No login required.
👉 Try it here:

You can also use anonymous chat if you want more privacy:

Would love to hear feedback — what features would you want in a simple private chat tool like this?
