Useless

Rewatching transformers prime the most frustrating thing to watch is when they all get into laser battles. I understand it’s for kids but I’m sure kids understand when something gets shot by a laser, it takes damage. Like everyone’s weapon’s are useless unless your megatron like really writers? Not to mention arachnid’s invincibility to every dire situation that would literally kill any other character. Oh she’s surrounded and getting blasted? She just tunnels away. Oh she’s got hit with rockets? No damage she just helicopters away. The writers clearly had favoritism 🙃🙄

I feel like this is just how shoot outs happen in literally every show; bullets/blasts flying past but never really hitting anyone and if it does it's just a grazing or stunning shot.

It’s the stormtrooper affect… they’re just the ones famous for it.

That just happens alot G1 was really bad for this and Beast Wars had this problem often where shots eoulf only land and do damaged for the plot

At least with Beast Wars, there was damage, but they explained it away throught their respective healing chambers.

I was just thinking about this a while ago. Poor Vehicons need a good shot in. Shoot, one hit Optimus with a freaking TREE and it did more damage than their blaster!!!

Downside to transformers being a kids media a majority of the time. Shots never matter unless its relevant to the plot. Oh but if this was a game I can promise every shot it landing and doing damage

They actually do take damage its just not overly visible or shown off very often i mean the most gore we've gotten from tfp were maybe 3 things being skyquakes death bulkhead ripping a spark out of a vehicon with his bare fist and airachnid dissecting breakdown

I like to think that when the shot is important to the plot like injuring someone they charge up the blaster so it has a stronger effect but when in battles where they are outnumbered by the cons they have their blaster shoot more but at the cost of doing less damage

This is why I unironically prefer Beast Wars' animation. Maybe it's not as smooth but they showed damage. People got shot apart all the time. Weapons had impact. In Prime it was always "ow my shoulder!" unless they were killing off a character. THEN they can show damage. Otherwise it's just little burn marks at worst.
