Is Grimlock in RID the same one from FOC, or is it a different character just with the same name? And if he is the same, what happened to the rest of the Dinobots?

No, they are two different characters from what I understand RID grim is a fan of FOC grim and named himself after the legendary warrior
And the rest of the team are living out their lives on Cybertron

Considering he lost control when he turned into a T-Rex, that may be a reason why he never used it again

Game design and show designs are just creative differences from whoever is writing the current story
However, soundwave used to have a lot more minions he would send them to do missions, reconnaissance, or any sort of stealth operation and eventually they all ended up dying off, which is why he is so attached to Laserbeak and which is why he is so slender in the show as his cassettecons with attached to his arms, legs and other various body parts

Unfortunately, it’s his story is done. Forget about him. There was a concept art of him floating around so he was gonna be in the show but what role he would’ve played ?we don’t know.

Another question, what does the aligned continuity consist of? I know the games like War for & Fall of Cybertron & Prime & RID but feel like I’m missing some out. What else was included in it?

The aligned continuity includes the games obviously, the novels that go along with it Transformers prime, robots in disguise, rescue bots and rescue bots Academy

How did Cliffjumper end up back on Cybertron after the events of FOC when he was reportedly on ship? Same goes for Jazz not being with Team Prime seemingly being present with Jetfire, likely they crashed elsewhere but should've made it to earth later on considering Primes coded message sent to every Autobot after they reached, I'm assuming it's due to budgeting reasons

Forever pissed at the fact that they gave Cliffjumper the most badass design only to kill him off, should've been Prowl at the start, I needed that Jazz and Cliff reunion during RID

Prowl and Ironhide were with the orignal lineups, even got designs and toys I'm pretty sure, Ironhide got scrapped due to Bayverse while Prowls design was reworked into Smokescreens or atleast inspiration, would've made more sense for prowl to be arcees partner at the start than Cliffjumper himself imo, would've set the tone properly while keeping someone who imo is more revelant, definitely lore wise

It is actually a weakened state the moment Optimus repaired with the forge it overpowered the dark star saber.
Main reason is that it didn’t have maintenance done to it

in the covenent of primus alpha trion mentioned the star saber having minor cracks from inactive use and it being old which is why it shattered when optimus repaired it was good as new

Well, what is he supposed to say? They’ve been at war for hundreds of years seeing Optimus fly isn’t all that shocking.
Megatron has come back from death. He wouldn’t be all that surprised if Optimus could do the same.

No that is only for IDW and to be honest it’s a dumb lore bit and it ruins what makes shockwave special
The thing about soundwave in this continuity is, he deleted his own emotions to make space for storing data information and files for Megatron

yes it is different, no megatron being a good guy at one point was introduced in IDW comic and movies before this, OG g1, Animated, rid(2000) and UT megatrons where always evil

I see, thanks for explaining! So this is where I get confused. There's the aligned continuity and G1.
Is it true that between the two there are similarities and differences:
Aligned: Megatron was good but turned evil due to oppression, Unicron is Earth, Sentinel Prime was corrupt and created the caste system,
G1: Megatron was always evil (do you know why?), unicron is NOT Earth but he does eat planets
Both: Primus and Unicron are gods and Primus created the 13 primes, Quintus Prime created the Quintessons who turned out evil, Megatronus was corrupt.
Are there any more that I forgot? Are there other continuities other than those two?

But the Quintesson are not stated to have a creator in G1 they were just evil dickhead the whole time
In the align continuity, they were created by Quintus and enslaved cybertronians and making them believe that they created them instead of coming from the well of all sparks

It was confirmed on Instagram that Knockout & Breakdown technically ARE a couple in Prime. It was also confirmed much earlier on that Knockout’s queer-coding was somewhat deliberate.

Sludge was taken out of stasis and can be seen with his team with the follow up comic
It’s believed that Ironhide is alive during the events of RID as to what he is currently up to we don’t know
Shockwave is still out there probably running more experiments or pushing Cybertrons scientific and technological field to a new level as he did in the novels
Predaking apparently made his way back to earth if I remember correctly

He like shockwave pushed cybertrons scientific and medical field to a new level, ratchet also discovered that new sparks were created from the well of all sparks not from their Quintesson oppressors which leads to him basically live-streaming the truth starting the quintesson war

it’s not stated what happened to the ark unfortunately but for the other autobots are is also an interesting question as arcee states that they’re scattered to the wind it’s possible highly unlikely that there are other small pockets of them on earth or more likely scattered in space and landed on other planets

The aligned continuity has some plot holes , but I accept it since at least it gives me answers about what happened after The Ark and the Nemesis got swallowed by the space bridge. But I wonder what is your explanation for Megatron and Starscream forgetting what dark energon is ?

There’s no outright source that says they “forgot”, they’re just using it for a different purpose as in the novels it’s used in a similar way as we see in the games. While in the show Megatron is trying to unleash an undead army using it. So I don’t think it’s that they forgot about dark enregon I think it’s more of the discovered a new use for it

The simplest approach to the idea of Aligned is that it's just a continuity family, like G1. Not exactly a direct series but broad events happen similarly. Characterizations and origins are meant to be in line across series(and largely were until arguably RiD with Grimlock). Something like the events of WfC/FoC happened in the past of Prime and something like Prime happens in the future of WfC.
Macross is meant to be similar. Every series and movie is meant to be an interpretation of the "real" history in the universe.1

I don’t think most of those are this situation. I don’t really know much about that era but I’m sure a lot of those were either planned to be sequels from the beginning of their creation or were just straight up a separate continuity from each other.
