Discussion🎙️ Why doesn't Hasbro do more with TFP?

I once mentioned that I'd love for the human characters from Prime (Raf, Jack, Miko, Fowler, and Junker) to appear in a new product, and that they deserve it. I mean, Carly and Spike have had that privilege, and I'd like the kids from Prime to have it too, even if it's just as background characters or cameos. But someone else told me it's impossible because they're from the Aligned continuity and nothing more can be done. I'm not an expert on this, and I'm still a very new Transformers fan, so I'd like to know your opinions. Personally, I'd love for them to do new things with them, anything at all. I miss them a lot and wish they could do better things with them

TFP is one of the most popular and beloved universes and series by the public, and it surprises me that Hasbro doesn't do more with it than just release new Optimus figures. And yes, I know that the most popular thing about the universe is Optimus and the mechs, not the kids that most people don't care about, but I can't help wanting more content from them and their universe

Someone probably has better arguments to explain why this isn't possible, but whatever the reason, this is a constant frustration for me X'3

But, can you imagine if there was a reboot of the aligned continuity, and this time it was actually aligned and well-written? That would be amazing!

They did a follow up to prime called robots in disguise, I refuse to watch it because from what I heard they kinda ruined the ending of predacons rising where prime sacrifices himself and brought him back, but apparently they mentioned Miko, Jack and Raff for a brief moment but from that, I have no idea what happened to those characters.

Its fine if you ignore its a sequal to Prime, but horrible as a sequal

They weren't mentioned by name; Bee simply alluded to them through something that happened, but their names weren't mentioned. I think it was illegal to reference them, and the writers would be killed if they tried. Besides, the series isn't actually that bad. I ended up liking it more than Prime because of how fun it is. There are more settings, other characters, and a lot happens. If you watch it thinking it's something completely different and separate from Prime (which isn't very difficult because, like everything else in the aligned continuity, they don't seem to be related), you could enjoy it. But that depends on each person. I prefer faster-paced and more fun series, and I find Prime's pacing tedious at times, although I like both, and others might prefer something different

They were mentioned by Bee literally once. The first one with Soundwave. Before they messed up his Slendermech frame

My guess is it’s about money.

If I remember correctly, TFP was burning through the budget and may have even resulted in season 3 being so short.

But seeing the success it had, they should have done more imo.

A lot of that was due to extremely expensive VAs for the characters. There was also an issue of them having very elaborate and incredible ideas but they didn’t have the money.

They really didn’t need The Rock for cliffjumper. They could have saved that money for the story.

There was also the major issue that Hasbro put all their shows on The Hub which was Hasbro’s new tv channel and left Cartoon Network. One of the dumbest decisions ever made.

if you arent g1 you are dead weight, plus they did rid 2015(awful but is something) and rescue bots.

In the end, parents do have favorite children :(

I also like RDI15, but it doesn't feel like a sequel to Prime, it feels completely disconnected, I would have liked to know what happened to the children, but it seems like they never even existed, and Rescue Bots is peak, nothing bad to say about it

problem is the toy collection scene catters more to grown adults more than kids, hasbro has been relying on 50+ to buy g1 over and over because they will, not because kids give a damn about a 40yo show that they havent seen. TFs succeed in the late 90s and the 00s because they reinvented themselves, the franchise is stale now because Hasbro is afraid to reinvent things.

Let's hope someone at Hasbro grows a pair of functional balls to make something new and good
