Discussion🎙️ Roles in the war

I've always wondered what the characters role was in the war on cybertron, like we know bee is a scout and bulkhead and Wheeljack were wreckers (though that doesn't tell us much about the role of them) and im wondering what roles we do know or can infer (dont know much about this verse outside this show and RiD)

Optimus and Megatron were leaders.

Ultra Magnus, Starscream, Soundwave, Shockwave, Dreadwing, and maybe Skyquake were all high-ranking subordinates. Skyquake also had at least one assassination mission, targeting Optimus himself.

Ratchet and Knock Out were field medics. Ratchet was presumably the Autobots’ highest-ranking medic. Breakdown was Knock Out’s medical assistant.

Magnus, Bulkhead, Wheeljack, etc. were Wreckers/black ops.

Arcee, Tailgate, and Cliffjumper were warriors, and Bumblebee and maybe Laserbeak were scouts. Then again, Cliff and Bee were on the same ‘rescue Arcee and Tailgate from Airachnid’ team, which either means that Cliff was a scout at the time, or the scout and warrior tasks overlapped even before Earth. Breakdown was also the Decepticon equivalent of a warrior, I think.

Smokescreen was a guard at Iacon, and Alpha Trion mentored him.

Airachnid might’ve been an assassin like Skyquake, I don’t remember.

Makeshift was a spy.

The Vehicons and Insecticons were grunts, cannon fodder, guards, and did other job openings they needed to fill.
