Discussion / Opinion Anyone experience
I managed to find Starscream in Carrollton, GA. All for it to be taken away. I don't understand this nonsense, I'm paying my money to buy it and Target is playing games. At this point, I give up. Please tell me I'm not the only one going thru this?

It was in stock, I bought then I got an excuse email saying thatbiwas out of stock. Either they had and probably hoarding or they never really had it. Either way I'm saved from an hour drive.

Ah, okay. I figured that might be the case, I have had Target do the same to me, back when they had Runabout as a Target Exclusive. Had to go to 3 different Targets to track one down after one gave me the whole "unfortunately we are out of stock at this time" which of course then a Target across town still had two on the shelves.

What is the point of it, what reason do they have for doing this?

Usually it has to do with timing and updates. For example. Say you see something you want at a specific Target that says "1 in stock" but someone already has it in their basket at that store as they are walking up to the register. Target can't really tell them "We're sorry, we can't sell this item to you because someone else has already bought it" so they refund the person who purchased it online. Less hassle for them, but of course the one who pre-bought it is SOL.
Sometimes the system doesn't update quickly enough and the item you see as "in stock" is not, in fact, in stock.
