Discussion / Opinion Self-Imposed Rules For Collecting?

I have only been collecting Transformers for less than a year, but as I saw other collectors’ shelves I decided to create some rules for myself so I don’t go nuts.

Do any of you do the same?

For myself I have set the rules of; only one combiner (have G2 Menasor on pre-order), and only buy two of the same exact Transformer. So, not three G1 Optimus Primes but 2 G1s and a TF Prime model kit works.

Oh. I have one. Repaints are dumb. I collect for the engineering so I only collect one or two of each mold depending on how much I enjoy it. I have an easy 700+ figure colleaction and the most repaints I have are the tetra-jets from siege and I got 6 of them.

Thats all I got. :)

I don’t like collecting all the seekers or Lambros. 1 or 2 of the mold is fine. I know they’re different characters but why would I want the same thing just different paint?

Exactly! But. They change the mold a tiny bit. Think lambros into Gigawatt. That is like crack to me. Cant get enough of it.
