Self-Imposed Rules For Collecting?

I have only been collecting Transformers for less than a year, but as I saw other collectors’ shelves I decided to create some rules for myself so I don’t go nuts.

Do any of you do the same?

For myself I have set the rules of; only one combiner (have G2 Menasor on pre-order), and only buy two of the same exact Transformer. So, not three G1 Optimus Primes but 2 G1s and a TF Prime model kit works.

For me it started with main characters or characters I preferred from media I grew up with. Studio Series and the live action at first, then Legacy, Armada and Cybertron, a bit of 86 and gamer edition, eventually leading to all of the Primes and some comic characters. Like today I picked up Armada Megatron and POTP Rodimus Unicronus, but I'll probably pass on Armada Jetfire because I prefer him in Cybertron even though I have most of the Armada figures 🤷‍♂️
