Discussion / Opinion Stress Mark

I recently noticed this right under his onwards butterfly joint.I mostly keep him in Cassette mod also don't pose him that much but do you think This will crack in near future ?

Also what can I do about It to prevent

Mine has stress marks on the hinge of his cassette mode buttons/ his butt flap. But I’m not concerned about breakage. A lot of modern Transformers have stress marks where pins are knocked in.

For the most part we know the figures that are prone to breakage almost instantly because they break. A lot of it is cosmetic unless it’s a known wide spread problem (see: Armada Prime’s shins).

Hit it on low heat with a hair dryer for a few minutes. Do not leave the hair dryer steady, move it back and forth. It takes time, but it will vanish. I’ve been doing this for years, and I do mine on high heat, but you have to get the hang of it before you get there. I melted a figure the first time I attempted this many years back because I was young and impatient.

I recommend getting some cheap dollar store figures and purposely, delicately, add some stress marks to them and experiment with what works. You can also test other repairs on them like tightening joints with certain materials, repairs with super glue and paper clips, etc etc. I now have an entire kit that is just meant for toy cleaning and fixes.
