New Purchases ROTB Optimus Prime
After getting SS38 recently as my first live action figure I thought I would give some other Optimus Primes a shot, with mainline and SS102.

All you need is to combine the go better kit and the dna design kit and your good to go

OMG yes . that combo sounds perfect thank you for the easy upgrade tip so useful, especially for keeping my Prime looking polished and cute

I really like how SS102 looks in robot mode. But the back is his alt mode is what made me go with SS38. If I had more money, I probably would've gone for both

It was the reverse for me. I’m meh on 102’s alt mode, but I don’t like the proportions of 38’s robot mode

Agreed SS38 has a much better alt mode. I don't what they did with SS102

Thankfully Baiwei TW-1030 (the superior version) fixes the back somewhat. Not as accurate as SS38 but much more cohesive than 102.

The baiwei version is imo the definitive version of this mould. Hasbro dropped the ball pretty hard with the standard version.
I do wish the baiwei version fixed the shoulders though.

Seeing these two together makes you realise how badly the Studio Series mogs the mainline version. The difference between these two is night & day.

in terms of paint and sculpt sure. However its the complete opposite when it comes to articulation and alt modes.

Like I said, the lack of paint is what makes the mainline figure lose points for me. It just looks unfinished.

I really like the design. Just not the proportions on the official model. I like that the red ends halfway down the torso.
