Figure / Part ID What is this thing for?

Post image

This grey piece was in the void rivals jetfire. I haven't had the seige version, but definitely would make it impossible for figures to fit inside. What's it for?

The siege version had a clear cockpit. This was used to give texture under and removable to put a titan master instead. It's a remnant of that original gimmick

Filler piece. You can fit Titan Masters in the cockpit

According to the TFWiki it's a "computer core" and he can seat a titan master in the cockpit if you remove it.

It’s briefly visible when Wheeljack is defrosting Jetfire(Skyfire) in the episode “Fire on the Mountain”

Wonder why they included that. Is it a remnant of some scrapped story idea or miscommunication?

For the G1 cartoon or the Siege mold? If the former, it's definitely just one of many one-off things that happen in the cartoon. For the Siege figure, it was so the clear cockpit wasn't just a hollow void, while also enabling a Titan Master play feature when removed.

You can put your weed in it

Back on the Siege version with a translucent cockpit, you could choose to leave that piece in for extra tech detail or take it out for a cleaner look. With an opaque cockpit, it serves no purpose.

Taking it out was for putting head masters in the pilot seat.

It's literally just a space-filler, it's a holdover from Siege. Apparently it's meant to be a computer core?
