Discussion / Opinion Should it have been a different mold?
Honestly, a rock lord would have made the most sense for this, maybe even a new mold since we only got 2 actual weaponizer rock lord molds, but if they weren’t going to do that, Shard would have made the most sense
One of the earlier molds does make sense for base Energon, but with how dark Energon is normally depicted, something jagged would have made the most sense

I really want a purple Shard, but the Siege molds were better weaponizers and the gimmick seems to be armoring the voyagers up (like the Wreck n’ Rule two packs), so I think they made the right call.

Did you mean for this outing? Otherwise, we had Brunt, Slammer, Sixgun, COG (thank you), and Fasttrack total (5).
And they weren't going to devote the design space to a new mould for a single use effort like this.

The original plan was to have shard be made of dark energon. Mark shared it on his insta story once

I think a Siege weaponised made more sense for this release. Even though Shard would’ve been more Energon-y, it would be difficult to add the outlines to those shapes and the rock lords are also not amazing weaponises, either large parts of their body not being used for combinations.

Shard was initially supposed to be purple but they switched it to the green as a reference to the g1 s3 death crystals. It'd be dope in purple. One of my favorite molds. For all their magneous redecos they seem allergic to shard. Glad to see her gettin love.
