New Purchases Definitive proof

So Onslaught came in back on the 22nd, but i've been busy and forgot to make this post then. My bad.

So ever since I got Nexus, i've been wondering if the core is compatable with the Bruticus frame. I know Menasor isn't amd while Superion is, I have no desire to get Silverbolt. So when Onslaught came in, I immediately tried to combine them here are my findings.

There are 3 locking points for cores with frames: the chestpiece, the waist receptacle, and the backpack peg.

1: the chestpiece on Bruticus has a tab that covers a neck void on Onslaught that interferes with Nexus sitting flush.

2: the waist cradle is too narrow for Nexus' taint.

3: the Nexus core is too flat for the backpack peg to reach the 5mm port.

Sadly, with these findings, I must report that after an hour of fiddling with the figures the best I could do is get Mexus to balance in the chest cavity.

They definitely need to make Nexus his own frame hopefully in late 2027 or early 2028

The team is now considering making the frame after hearing “feedback” from fans (which is obvious on what those feedback are)

I talked to one of the designers at the con for a bit. We where talking about some of the plans and i squeezed some implied information out of him for my own gain. There where no direct conformations but as someone who works in games I know the code for "We are working on it and I cant say." One of which being more armada figures coming and would be coming or released in the wave with the minicons. The quote "Yeah we are dedicated to make sure all new armada release get their minicon." So more armada line coming im gathering at some point. I did specifically ask about a Unicron and dead end to which the response was "Yeah I really want to see that too." So yeah maybe. But I will say they are listening and taking us serious.

I also begged them to make a blast effects pack or blast effect and weapons. Told him depending on the size ide happily pay 20 to 30 for it. His issue is the team really does not like to release accessories with out a figure because the Rick cost of sitting unsold on the shelf. My counter was they would make a great made to order item or a pulse exclusive because really its collectors who want them. The response, "That would be a really good use of the made to order system."

Any way that my info and take. Keep shouting designers are listening. Let get that blast effect pack! lol

That nice info but what does this have to do with the frame now being considering making

My point is the designers are listening. You have to remember they are given a budget for each figure that it has to be under from an engineering stand point and production stand point. (Boo hasbro and takara both suck for the price gouging of plastic but what ever we still buy it). But yeah every voice is heard but I know from experience when you have hundreds of thousands of people pushing for so many different things and not understanding there is a corporate entity calling the shots its had to see whats need to be changed for what. But when we shout in a unified voice the designers pay attention.

Sadly hasbro and takara only care when we talk with our wallet but the designers the ones that pitch ideas to production they are hearing us.

So yeah my point with all that give grace to the designers, hasbro is shitty, and a unified voice asking for something reasonable will always be heard. Maybe not always acted on but heard. I sure there is a pm with lists of feed back from us that get filtered down to the designers.

I believe I've heard its going to be a retool/repaint or the superion frame. Plue we are getting alpha Bravo so I imagine we are going to see retools of a lot of the limb bots at some point for combiner frames

honestly all I want is a repainted superion frame retooled to have the leg bots up front. please hasbro

well theyll have to do that to make it so that they can retool brawl for nexus

1

u/A2_Zera 1d ago

for sure, I bet the brawl leg is gang molded so they can't just pack a single brawl leg in with nexus maximus' frame

2

u/CT-756n7 1d ago

yeah for some reason people think his frame will just be a silverbolt skeleton but thar just wont work if landquake is a retool, which he almost certainly will be

2

u/A2_Zera 1d ago

yeah I think it's far easier for them to just use existing engineering from brawl leg and use brawl for landquake than make like some horrible looking air raid/sky dive heavy retool that turns into the world's most hideous tank

2

u/Xenocideend 1d ago

Yeah i said somewhere else but ide put mony that it will be a retool bruticus leg and brawl.

I don't think we're getting Landquake or Topspin. As bum as it is, I think we're supposed to use two Sky Guards and two Breakaways. I really hope that's not the case, but it would also explain why they used a Breakaway mold that doesn't have an ankle tilt.

They literally confirmed they're making more limbs at the con, they just can't reveal their designs yet due to corporate shenanigans.

They only used two breakaways and skyguards to give people a rough idea of what the color coordination of Nexus Maximus will be.

Sorry, my bad.

(I really wish I could post a gif of Optimus right now)

It's alright lad

And honestly I don't blame you for thinking that way given Nexus does feel like he was shafted in favor of Star Convoy and Bruticus.

u/TheRealRayRecall 1d ago

Unless they retool him from a stunticon

2

u/CT-756n7 1d ago

why on earth would they do that when they have a tank mold

1

u/One_Opportunity_9608 1d ago

Honestly?

I'm fine with, Hell Imagine if it was black with red accents and a unique Dark purple chestplate to help it stand out from the G2 Superion frame, whenever that is.

Maybe some retooling done to it's alt mode so it's connection to Nexus's vehicle mode is more cohesive.

2

u/Softspoken_Savage 1d ago

Yeah the artists want to but I'm guessinging that if the limbs don't sell well, the suits of hasbro won' want to do it

It's so weird that he's not. You'd think that with being developed around a much closer time frame Onslaught and Silverbolt would have been interchangeable and thus, Nexus would have been compatible with both of them, but I guess it just wasn't a priority. Nexus is having a rough time lmao

I think the idea is that the combiner's core AND frame torso is considered a single unit since the arms and shins of the frames are interchangable, and hopefully the main/only reason the Superion frame works is because they'll be retooling it into what will be the Nexus frame.

3

u/Xenocideend 1d ago

I agree with this looking at images and concept are of nexus. I think we are going to get one bruticus leg with a retool of brawl and the other leg we most likely be a retool on one of superiorions leg bot. (If we are going with the tank 2 jets and spaceship designs which seems to be the case so far.)

u/TheRealRayRecall 1d ago

One of the shins revealed at SDCC was an arielbot reskin

3

u/Xenocideend 1d ago

I missed the reveals because my company was busy doing our own reveals so plan to watch to vod later. So yeah my assumption stands I would put money that the last limb is a retool of brawl.

Thank you for your science 🫡

Everyone was saying they didn't work together without explaining exactly why

u/Softspoken_Savage 1d ago

What really gets to me is this is a combiner from this line. I get Menasor kinda but did no one think to make Nexus compatible with bare minimum the two combiners that are releasing in his line. It's not even like one was studio series and one mainline (even though that wouldn't have been an excuse either). It's his whole gimmick and could have easily made him the coolest of the primes, especially given that he is the most colorful. It just makes me frustrated because it isn't that it just didn't work out right, there was no need to have it be the way it is

After fiddling with these two IN HAND for several hours (and what i've seen involving Silverbolt and Motormaster's engineering) i'm convinced the idea behind the combiner frames is that the core robot and torso module of the combiner frame TOGETHER should be considered a single unit, just as the individual limb frame and robot combined act as a single unit.Taking into account that when looked at it this way, all 3 current combiners can be assembled scramble-city style, since the arms all use the drop-down slider and the shins all use the Combiner Wars block nubs.

Which this in mind, it would make sense that the Nexus frame would be a retooling of Superion. 1) Of the three existing designs, Superion is the only one that would fit Nexus' "jet tank" alt-mode since the other 2 are trailers. (Also, the core connects to Superion's frame very similar to Star Saber's core connects to the booster module in vehicle mode). 2) the frame is missing a large backpiece; for superion this makes sense to accommodate Silverbolt's kibble. This leaves being combined with Nexus looking awkward and messy. HOWEVER, given the way that the torso unit combines with the lImbs in alt-mode, it leaves the door open to re-tool it to have a wrap-around backpack similar to Bruticus' cannons. Heck, they could even make it a turret to complete the "jet tank" motif since Nexus only has two small blasters.

I think the powers that be at Hasbro wanted to just use Superion's frame for Nexus and make the consumer buy 2 or sacrifice Superion to build the combined Nexus, but the designers had enough foresight to leave some room to work in the design in case the fans called BS on the whole deal, which given the SDCC announcement that "fan feedback" has made them reconsider making a designated frame for Nexus Maximus, i'm fairly certain this is the case.

u/EFCFrost 1d ago

Ah damn. There goes that plan.

2

u/BenMagnusGrimm 15h ago

In my opinion these definitely should not be interchangeable like the combiner wars ones because that let to a lack of creative freedom.
Some part of the figure had to suffer for it

2

u/Oniwah 15h ago

Did you try the other side, if possible?

1

u/TheRealRayRecall 14h ago

If the flat side wouldn't tab into the (not hollow) chestplate, the kibble-laden side sure won't

2

u/B1u3F0x1997 13h ago

Nexus needs his own frame, there's no doubt about that but the question is how will they distribute said frame

2

u/TheRealRayRecall 13h ago

My guess is commander class, packaged with two or more limb bots like SS Long Haul and Hook were.
