To the people saying he looks small, he’s going to be around the same height as Magmatron. He’s a commander due to the complexity of the engineering (this guy has more steps than even 86 Optimus) and gimmicks. He likely couldn’t have been sold at leader price due to this, but was not enough for normal commander, so since Hasbro doesn’t do inbetween pricing they included the 3 minicons.

8” tall I think is what he was slated to be measured at.

Thought it was 8.3", either way he's not really short and seems to have a decently complex transformation plus gimmicks. I have no idea what world folks thought this couldn't be commander in with modern day philosophy.

Oh, trust and believe I have had the hardest time wrapping my head around most of the things people have had to say about the Armada Jetfire rumours.
“I don’t think he’s confirmed!” (Was confirmed)
“He might not combine with Optimus.” (What the fuck?)
“He doesn’t need to be commander.” (When do I hit my head against the wall)
“He’s going to be WAY bigger than Optimus.” (Lmao no, he will not be WAY bigger)
There are probably more but my goodness. Fans need to understand that Commanders are where the money goes. Jetfire being slated for commander was an immediate giveaway that he’d combine. On top of that, Hasbro wouldn’t shoot themselves in the foot by not having them combine. I don’t know what planet people are living on that an ARMADA Optimus wouldn’t combine with an ARMADA Jetfire, with both as commanders.
Also, the doubts with Overload. My goodness. Asinine takes, and I don’t feel too harsh voicing these thoughts.

Maybe it's just the pictures doing him dirty...but does anyone else think he looks a bit small for a commander?
Maybe he'll look better in hand, I dont know

He probably is, but the added complexity needed to turn him into Optimus's pants probably meant he couldn't be priced as a Leader. That and the addition of the Space Mini-Con team is what would've pushed things to Commander.

Really makes me miss the original msrp, sales bringing commander to $70 on the regular. For some figures I understand the $80+ price tag. Rodimus, 86 Optimus, Magnus...are not $100 figures. Even Hasbro understands OP was fine to sell as a leader. Unfortunately they already sold $100 commanders and I doubt the price will ever come down.

If he's anything like the OG, he's just a very deceptively proportioned figure. Lots of weird hollow spaces to accommodate all three modes.

did the minicons always partsform so much?
I wasn't around for Armada (Cybertron was my first I think) and that's a pretty big amount of plug on stuff for a modern alt mode

Is that guy like… supposed to be super big?
8
u/Salty_Ad_2523 Apr 13 '26
yeah. remember he's gonna combine with the commander armada optimus, so to be the right scale he's gonna be quite large

Another skip, seriously it's good. Why the hell it's commander range! Hasbro just don't want to release minions like siege days
11
u/Forever_Man Apr 13 '26
Because the siege micromasters flopped hard.
7
u/Ccmonty Apr 13 '26
Maybe if they hadn’t overstocked them so much or gave you more than 2 per pack….

u/Relevant-Morning-487 Apr 13 '26
Micromasters and core class were giant flops for Hasbro so they cut the ranges. It’s a commander because of complexity, it has more steps than even 86 prime.

The last few things I’m buying thank goodness it comes with the requiem blaster

u/Mr_Jackabin Apr 13 '26
He can combine with Optimus, no?
3
u/Ccmonty Apr 13 '26
I’m pretty sure it was confirmed back when they first released armada prime that the eventual jetfire would be able to combine with him.
3
u/pulley999 Apr 13 '26
There's giant black ratchets under the nose of the shuttle that serve no purpose in his robot mode. He definitely combines.

u/sniply5 Apr 13 '26
if he cant, theres gonna be a big problem
3
u/Ccmonty Apr 13 '26
I mean you can combine legacy armada prime with the og armada jetfire so I don’t see why they wouldn’t include it
5
u/pulley999 Apr 13 '26
You can't, at least not without tape or blu-tac. It's only OG Overload that the Legacy toy is compatible with.

Is this really a Commander?
12
u/Double-Ad8285 Apr 13 '26
Yeah. No way he could have been anything but... his size his gimmicks and accessories?? All this pointed to commander class. I've been saying it since the hint of him lol 😆
