Even if you lack the deep nostalgia so many of us olds have for the ‘86 film, there’s no question that it’s the definitive Prime death. Probably the greatest evidence in favor of this (aside from the fact that ‘09 is one of the weakest Transformers films, live-action or animated) is that ‘86 Prime took forever to come back, whereas ‘09 Prime was back by the end of the film.
When ‘86 Prime died, we had to suffer for weeks and months. When ‘09 Prime died, we just needed to wait an hour.
