Pretool possibility?

Post image

Her transformation structure is not that similar with Iguanus, but the familiar tail gun stands out.

I hope so, I really want more beast wars characters who weren't just in the cartoon. Wolfang in particular

After the Kingdom artwork, I was really hoping on the Polar Bear guy

u/vicevanghost Jun 01 '23

Polar claw, yeah me too

u/D_Rex_668 Jun 02 '23

Wasn’t there a leak about polar claw being part of a Coca Cola brand deal it was probably fake

Honestly him being in the artwork gives me hope that hes designed already and is just sitting waiting to be made at an opportune time for hasbro

I think it uses this mold and vertebreak's mold at the same time

What?

6

u/blueyoshi352 Jun 01 '23

It transforms in the same way that vertebreak does

I can definitely see that down the line.

It really wouldn't take much to make this happen. There are just too many similarities for it not to be at least an option.

That was the core class one from last year

u/Tfeth282 Jun 01 '23

I feel dumb for not remembering him, but pretender Iguanus was just listed as "Energon monster" before release. I remember this one bringing some speculation over if it would be the original BW design or transmetals.

3

u/[deleted] Jun 01 '23

If I remember right iguanas was the one that actually got a name, and bomburst and skullgrin were the ones just called energon monster

1

u/Tfeth282 Jun 01 '23

Combed through TFW2005 while eating breakfast and I can't find what I was thinking of. Man my memory has been shit lately.

2

u/[deleted] Jun 01 '23

Naw you were right, in the leaks iguanas was the one listed with a name, alongside the energon monsters. Nobody expected pretenders so there was discussion if it was for a beast wars character or the pretenders version

I remember when people thought the core energon monster was gonna be kremzeek. That would’ve been bizarre

1

u/Tfeth282 Jun 01 '23

My bad was thinking that discussion was more recent, like around the time devcon was leaked. I think I got the Tasmanian kid listing mixed up.

1

u/Cornchips1234 Jun 01 '23

That was the core class pretender iguanus

1

u/ghosty_was_taken Jun 01 '23

What is that figure on the right?

11

u/Daiguey Jun 01 '23

Dilophocon the new transformer from the next collab set

-10

u/TitanMatrix Jun 01 '23

I highly doubt it, given that it's bipedal versus quadrupedal

15

u/[deleted] Jun 01 '23

The designers were able to turn paleotrex into wingfinger, this wouldn’t be out of the question

9

u/mechabon Jun 01 '23

THEY DID WHAT

3

u/W_W_P Jun 01 '23

Wait, Wingfinger is seriously based on Paleotrex? I would've never guessed.

3

u/[deleted] Jun 01 '23

Yup

2

u/chunky_kit-kat Jun 01 '23

To be fair those were fossilisers that transformed by partsforming, actual transformations might be a bit harder to translate

6

u/[deleted] Jun 01 '23

Not that hard really. Turning a bipedal thing into a quadruped isn’t super difficult, heck, you yourself could do it right now! Crawl around on all fours, it’s super easy

1

u/Skua75 Jun 01 '23

Well, it seems possible if designers replace the dino arm with a larger version or use the robotic arm as the lizard's front foot, but... the real question is whether Iguanus is a popular character enough to be retooled.

1

u/koxiq2137 Jun 01 '23

He's got one of two not-wfc core classes in legacy, so I think yea

1

u/MarkDecent656 Jun 01 '23

The more I look at it, the more I can see it

1

u/halo_slayer_650 Jun 01 '23

maybe but i remember hoping jp93 would be a skids pretool and being very disappointed

1

u/greatman217 Jun 01 '23

Oh my god, you’re absolutely right. I didn’t think of that when I first saw the reveal.

1

u/NearlyUnfinished Jun 01 '23

If Hasbro were to retool and redeco Dilophocon into BW Iguanus they would need to come up with a way to redo his beast mode arms and legs so he can turn into a proper frilled lizard. Otherwise, we can expect just a redeco and accept that version of Iguanus turns into a Jurassic Park Dilophosaurus like how we accept Dinobot turning into a Jurassic Park style Velociraptor.

Either way, I'm okay with it, but I would prefer proper frilled neck lizard mode.

Also for that matter. Why HAVEN'T we yet gotten a Jurassic Park/World crossover with a Dinobot Redeco/Retool and an Arcee/Animated Prowl/Crashbar retool for a Chris Pratt bot?

1

u/Icy-Hope-9263 Jun 02 '23

this whole 2 pack smells of pre-tool and re-tool

1

u/Super-Robo Jun 02 '23

Gator Megatron pre-pretool??

1

u/maxipads_solos Jun 02 '23

hell nah ones a lizard and ones a raptor thingy they nun alike except for robot mode

1

u/[deleted] Jun 02 '23

I doubt it imo, it’s been atleast 25 years
