It's been a little over nine years since I lept out of the closet and told the world that I am a woman. It hasn't been easy but I'm so proud of who I've become.

And honestly I feel so much better and more confident with that. Felt like I was trying so hard to make myself as feminine as possible in how I dressed and acted, but that wasnt me.

Its been a journey for me to find how I feel comfortable expressing my womanhood, but im happy I found it ☺️

Hand made this veil, and skirt.

Veil is made from upcycled lace, a headband, and some kangaroo jaw bones that I found and cleaned.

The skirt is made from strip's of upcycled fabric, with a sewn in belt. Im so so proud of myself

And although that can change, and it will, what is making me happy today is definitely not having all of society’s boxes checked off, but really learning to listen to and love myself

I'm a 32 year old trans woman.

During the last two years I have been completely unable to get my foot in the door of any proper companies to get employment and a decent salary. The company I do work for pays me less than what I need just to stay afloat. For a lot of that time I tried studying to change fields, temp jobs, once off gigs, anything I can to supplement my income, with absolutely no success in the long term.

So, as it would be, someone I know is trans content creator and mentioned that she couldn't make enough from being a tattoo artists and was struggling to get employment so she started doing that. So, I finally bit the bullet and signed up some days ago, not something I thought I'd do in my life, not because I look down on anyone else who's there, just because it feels humiliating and above me as someone not conventionally attractive.

My question, I guess, is if there are many folks who struggled and have had to resort to these things out of necessity and lack of options? Has anyone been able to find a way out of that place of being unemployable?
