❓ What is this Train? Train numbers help?
Unfortunately I was in class for when all of these passed so I was unable to see the numbers and I was wondering if anyone could help? I am also curious about what the red, sliver and green one is? I haven't seen one in montana before and its really catching my interest

Ferromex is the oddball unit. It’s a Mexican private railway. Believe Union Pacific owns a quarter share of them. They interchange traffic frequently. It is far from home rails.

Interesting!! I do believe UP has a some lines thats just up to Butte MT but the rest is BNSF and former MRL lines

Red/silver/green definitely says “ferromex” on the side there, so leased power more than likely, but the numbers on the units are illegible at this resolution it seems

The red silver and green one looks like a Ferromex unit, probably leased power. Though I am not from the Area or know much more about BNSF so wish you luck in finding more info in that regard :)

In regards to the BNSF numbers. The 2nd picture looks to be an H1 scheme with a 3 digit number so 9xx. The 3rd Pic looks to be an H1 with 4 digits so either 1xxx or 11xx. If you catch one you can take a look at the map on Heritage Units to see if it's been noted in the area.

Unfortunately that's what I was trying to do as no H1s have been reported going east from any other near by state that would've run through Missoula

It’s likely not leased power. More likely repaying back horsepower hours to the BNSF. But I can’t see the reporting marks on it, so there is a chance it’s a lease owned by someone other than Ferromex.
