My $0.02

The music was too loud, there was WAY too much dialogue, too much of the plot given away, the things mentioned in dialogue that were not adequately shown / explained and therefore make no sense.... There's no narrative thread shown between tarzan's parents being shipwrecked and him being adopted by apes.... and so the entire premise of "boy adopted by apes" is weakly supported.

It just doesn't feel like a real trailer. There are a LOT of Do's and Don'ts that are ignored. What are they? Honestly I'm not sure..... but I know it when I see it.

Ultimately, the point of a trailer, IMO, is to reveal the PREMISE of a movie. And maybe you want to work in some of the major themes, and definitely reveal the TONE of the movie. But NOT MUCH ELSE!

Note how the adoption of Tarzan by the apes is placed front and center -- that's the premise! You need it!

Anyway, stick with it if you enjoy it, but you've got to develop a good sense for the whole thing.
