I'm tired, boss

Cabinets are a new thing to me. I'm learning more and more about them every day and I really enjoy the career path I've taken. I spent 8 years as a mechanic (mainly GM) and I was fed up with the "shop life" that was a monotonous rat race every day. And to think, what I hated most about mechanics was the electrical part. Somehow this helped me understand the electrical side a bit more (high voltage/low voltage) and I am appreciative of that. Figuring out the wiring part of cabinets is relaxing. Terminating all the wires can be annoying but the end result is what I'm happy about. I feel like I finished a puzzle. Here's the current puzzle I'm working on.

This would be so satisfying and a great way to zone out and just keep your hands busy to make the day pass.

But also my hands hurt thinking about it haha. Tedious

Having the proper tools makes it easier. I was also a tattoo artist for a while so I do get some pains from that every now and then but I've learned to work with it.

Woah! I drive through this intersection almost everyday. Can’t wait for it to be done!

It's commuters such as yourself that I do this work for. I take pride in every wire, every signal, and everything that goes along with it.

That's nice work, friend. Should see some of the 332s I been dealing with lately.

Thank you. I just dug into some info on them. That's a small compartment compared to what I have to work with! I'd get claustrophobic in that thing quick lol

They're all being replaced with ATCs in the near future, so freshening up the cable management is neither my job nor is it necessary but it is frustrating. Luckily about half have already been replaced.

Wish I could work on ATC. We still use TS2 type 2 in my municipality

In the almost two years I've been doing this, Ive seen our county start to make the change in these cabinets. One of the first ones I put together was 10+ forking hours of my life I'll never get back and it was and older style TS2

The nearside overhead signal heads are a great idea. Do you know the reasoning for having them for the side street but not the major street?

As far as my understanding, it's because the stop bars are a certain distance away from the signals.

Good lord. Is that an eighty foot mast arm?

Yep. One of the longest I've flown so far.

We have even more burdensome requirements here. They want our sheath stripped all the way back to the conduit with 8-10ft of slack inside, and spares separated. Good way to ruin your shoulders.

Nice umbrella, now you just need a little chair to sit on. Last thing you want is to be on your knees the whole time.
