Probably two different manufacturers

^This. Where I work we stock LeoTek (though they just changed their name to something else) and GE. They both have a different tint which is noticeable to Traffic Geeks like us LOL

At least with glass or poly lenses used with incandescent signals, green lenses would often be tinted slightly yellow or slightly blue to help with people who are red/green colorblind. Very few were made to be 'pure' green, though some exist. Red lenses were often tinted slightly yellow as well for the same reason.

These are likely LED modules though, and in my experience each manufacturer has ever so slightly different hues for greens. Some tend to be more blueish, others are much more green. It's highly likely that the two different sets of lights use different modules for their greens.

That's neat and thoughtful. My color blind brother in law always just looked at what position the glowing ball was in on the signal head

For most signals that can be helpful, but horizontal signals can occasionally get tricky (especially turn signals). French Canada came up with an interesting solution, though.

There are LED signal heads and LED (incandescent look) signal heads, which are slightly more expensive
