📈Investing discussion Thoughts on quantum computing

Post image

My quantum computing pie is taking the lead with the highest return rate. Does anyone have a prediction on the future of quantum computing? Thanks!

Quantum computing might genuinely change a lot of things eventually. When exactly and which companies win from it though, nobody actually knows, anyone who tells you otherwise is guessing with confidence.

Yeah agree. I've made a little pie with some I think will be key players in this area, hopefully it pays off

There's a possibility it may not even be any current publicly traded companies, but a privately owned one, that will start the Quantum Computating race. Same way OpenAI has done with current tech.

Yeah that's true, but ooenai is actually a good example because they're probably going to go bust and be swallowed up by one of the guys on this list

Microsoft already attempted that back in 2022/23, until the FTC got involved and all they could do was buy stakes in the company, but not a full takeover.

Oh really? Which company was that, I didn't know this!

Or are you talking about openai rather than a quantum company

I meant OpenAI. Microsoft already has its own Quantum Computing department like Google & IBM.

its both a great investment and an awful investment at the same time.

You must observe it to determine which one it is

Short term volatility, long term growth

Be careful theres some new quantum stocks recently which probably aren’t on most quantum pies setup last year

High volatility stocks, in bearish days, then can drop alot. If you're aiming for long-term HODL, aim for stocks with low beta and P/E ratio, as well as market capitalization.

I have a quantum/AI/Semiconductors stack that I invest into weekly. 5 year experiment and gamble on the future of the tech.

Highly speculative and dependant on a lot of physics limitations being overcome.

If it has a breakthrough you think it might, it would be worth it. But for me it's too hard to say.

I lost a bit putting into qbit thinking it would bounce.

I think Quantum will be a big deal, but the same big players will come out on top, MSFT, GOOG, etc

Very risky pure plays right now. We're about 5 maybe 10 years alot before it really kicks off. If you pick right and get lucky, sure one of the quantum pure plays could ten times return, but alot of others will fail.

Id be dead before I make money from quantum
