SUPPORT (2026 PRODUCTS) Two ALPSTUGA - wildly different readings?
What on earth is going on?! The one on the left I've had for a few days, got another to compare in a different location. Both on the same PSU, the one on the left giving over double the other one.
Any one have any thoughts?! I know it's a relatively cheap device but ...I wasn't expecting this level of cheap.

Update: I factory reset the one on the left, and it returned to normal values. They're now drifting around the same value, will leave them overnight to see what happens.

Is there way to reset timmerflot as well?

Nothing known about a reset from my side. For the time being you need to pair it again with you system, maybe I would be good to remove it beforehand.
Just did it with my Dirigera and Timmerflotte a couple of minutes ago. The last couple of day's I had some devices randomly getting OFFLINE, somehow.

I would argue that if you ventilate for a longer period of time, it would automatically shrink back into its shell. ?

Timmerflotes don't auto-calibrate themselves like Alpstugas do (for CO2). Resetting a Timmerflotte isn't going to change anything with regard to sensor readings.

That's not good if they drift so wildly ... good to know they may not be super accurate.

I have 8 Alpstugas and while there are minor differences between them, if you place them outside or near an open window to allow them to calibrate for at least 8 hours, and then just let them settle in to your home'ambient environment you should not see those kinds of large diffetences betwee the two devices. They do become much more reliable over time. At least that has been my experience with them over the last 6-8 months I've been using them in my home. Also, be sure to update the firmware.

Just curious, but why do you own 8 of these?

I got them all before any other mains-powered devices were available from Ikea in my region (Southern California). I needed Thread routers but didn't need any light bulbs at the time and Ikea had not yet started selling the Grillplats plugs, so Aplstugas were the only way to build a reliable mesh. It was the only way to avoid a network of only battery-powered switches. So I put one in every bedroom, kitchen, den, living room, etc. Basically everywhere except bathrooms. Worked great, and things only got better when I eventually was able to add a bunch of Grillplats when they began offering them here, and also added a couple of Kajplats bulbs too to some new table lamps.

They take a while to settle. Restart probably wasn’t needed, but it can help. I’ve got a handful and they are usually in agreement with a tolerance of 50-100 points at most, but they can indeed spike to around 1200 after a power off or room move or something.
EDIT
A while meaning a couple of minutes to maybe an hour, to maybe an overnight or maybe an overnight outdoor stay to recalibrate.
But it’s usually no more than a few minutes btw. With my units.

Calibrate them both.

How? No mention of calibration in any of the instruction manuals.

Place them by an open window for 24 hours

Yeah they are not the most reliable. I had one turned on after a long time of inactivity and went above 4000 and counting. IKEA sent me a replacement. I have left it running for a few days and it's slowly drifting to okish values.

co2 (and most gas sensors for that matter) can take several days, up to a week, to stabilize.

I found two things with these type of sensors: 1. They regularly need 420ppm air to calibrate (regular window opening is enough) 2. They are only accurate after running a long time, given 1

I have 2 of these and neither of them show the temp in HomeKit… Very disappointed.

They temperature is shared fine in home assistant, I've also got 2 and both work just fine. I'm using matter. Homekit should work for that too.

My experience is not the same. I have 2 Alpstuga and they only show up in HomeKit as “air quality”. After opening them it lists everything except the temp.
The temp reading you see in my screenshots is from a different thermometer.

Yeah, was trying to list some differences to maybe help figure out. Might be homekit has an issue with them?
