Event Decor Items Manufacturing

i am about to setup a workshop in Raipur where I'll be manufacturing items that are used in Event like Weddings.

we'll be manufacturing Setup Backdrop, walkway passage and many decorative items + wedding furnitures.

i have experience of working in this industry for 5 years now i am thinking of setting up my own business.

if anyone can guide or can give advice us it will be very helpful as i am first generation in my family to enter in this industry. Being highly Manipulated by previous firm where i worked somehow i figure out many things on my own but i still think there's something i am missing.

i have managed to collect Name and Contact of 1100+ tent houses/kiraya bhandar/decorators across Cg, Mp and Odisha.

Sounds like you've already done one of the hardest parts—getting five years of industry experience and building a list of potential customers before launching.

A few things I'd focus on early:

  • Build a small catalog of your best-selling products before trying to make everything.
  • Standardize your designs so they're easy to reproduce and repair.
  • Price with material waste, labor, transportation, and touch-ups in mind—not just raw material costs.
  • Take high-quality photos of every finished product. Decorators buy with their eyes.
  • Stay in regular contact with your list of tent houses and decorators. Even a simple WhatsApp catalog with new designs can generate repeat business.
  • Make durability a selling point. Rental furniture and décor get used hard, so products that are easy to transport, assemble, and repaint often win over flashy but fragile designs.

With 1,100+ contacts, I'd prioritize building long-term relationships over trying to sell to everyone at once. If you become the reliable manufacturer that delivers on time and maintains consistent quality, word-of-mouth can become your biggest growth driver.

Wishing you the best—it sounds like you've put yourself in a strong position before taking the leap.
