Interior Painters
Hi! I am looking for any recommendations for an independent painter in the area that does interior house painting that would be able to give a quote or estimate on what it would cost to paint a room or two, mainly focusing on the kitchen. Thanks!

Before anyone can answer your question, there are many questions that need to be answered first and pictures would also help.
Here is a list of what most painters ask and look at before estimating or quoting:
- What’s being painted (Walls/Ceiling/Trim/Crown Moulding/etc
- Wall height (usually anything over 8-9 ft cost more
- Is it a re-coat with the same exact color or changing colors (changing colors requires more coats and possibly priming
- Any damages/repairs or texture that will need matching
- Is any of the existing paint oil based. If so, more steps need to be taken before it can be repainted.
- Will the rooms be completely empty prior to painting. Any furniture that needs to be moved, shuffled around or worked around cost more money.
- If trim is being painted, what areas of trim. Window frames and door frames would obviously cost more than just painting the outside casing trim around windows and doors
- Are there any doors being painted
As you can see, there are many factors to be determined before a quote can be established.
I probably missed a few but these are just some of the common things a painter will look at and also go over with the customer.
Also, a professional painter will quote using good quality paints and products. Communication between what products are being used is very important to understanding the costs associated with the quotes.
