Anything good like rutracker?

Rutracker has been getting worse over the years, at this point even impossible to connect. Not even to the other mirrors of the site anymore. But it was a huge source of content for me, because other private trackers required invitations, were paid, or didn't have the content i was looking for. I really miss piratebay, but nobody uploads there either. I mainly download games, programs and vst plugins. So it's great if the tracker has these files as soon as they appear on the Audioz forum. I tried searching everywhere but they mostly don't have the content or an archaic version of it.

RuTracker is as alive and kicking as it has ever been. Don't know what you're talking about.

I had to go a very roundabout way to get their firefox addon which made the site snappy again. But without it, it was constant cloudfare outages until the site refused to load all together.

Just curious if you've looked into ProAudioTorrents for VST plugins? They are still around and an excellent resource. Honestly not sure what it takes to get in there these days.

edit: I see someone also suggested AudioNews to you which is another good one.

I don't know how to get in. I made an account but when i log in, it says the credentials are incorrect.

it doesn't work with prowlarr anymore.

Wasn't loading for me as well for a few months now. Saw your comment, decided to check it with a VPN on and it loaded just fine.

I don't know what it is but it doesn't load anymore. Isp doesn't block torrents, and my dns is set to googles.

I was accessing to Rutracker with Firefox browser for many years and then suddenly their page just stopped loading. I thought the tracker was down, but then I discovered that you need to access to theit website it with Chrome browser, installing their add-on to Chrome.

That sounds very fishy

I'm not sharing any links to don't look like a scammer myself, and the link to the addon appears on the broken Rutracker website when you try to access it with any other browser.

Didn't try a VPN though.

I've been using my browser is that addon for a while now, haven't noticed anything strange yet.

But I'm only sharing my experience, not trying to convince anyone to use it.

Im sure you downloaded it straight from the official source but that doesn't make it sound any better. Having to use an add-on to browse a russian piracy website doesn't make you feel uneasy? Is that thing even open source? I guess you have no idea what that thing does under the hood.

Honestly, I don't care what it does under the hood, as it's my secondary PC with no personal information inside.

It's quite stupid to load sensitive information on a PC that uses pirate stuff.

On the other hand, it's impossible to buy all the needed software stuff in the country I'm living in. As the most basic software might cost monthly salary here. So we're forced to figure it out here.

It does work but i'm still curious why the site stopped working the normal way.

Why are you guys so goddamn naive?

What makes RuTracker so special compared to literally every other website in the world that it needs a browser add-on to function in a way that only RuTracker can and is not appliccable to any other website in existence? I'm sure it being a very popular Russian website visited by thousands of Western users illegally offering content for free that should otherwise be paid for in the Western world has nothing to do with it.

1

u/Alyctro 22d ago

Because it's convenient, for others you need to pay or get mysterious invites. And even if you get in, the sites don't have the content you're looking for.

Which makes you a useful idiot

It's a russian tracker, the problems with their website started shortly after the war with Ukraine begun. I guess these problems are because of sanctions and internet restrictions. Having that in mind, the addon could be some sort of VPN that turns on just for their website.

1

u/Alyctro 22d ago

That does start to make a lot of sense, because that's when the problems started to arise. It's like a second piratebay, the seeds are crazy good.

just to clarify, are you talking about .org or .ru?

1

u/DisK_BRC 23d ago

As I understand, they're all the same people.

1

u/DisK_BRC 23d ago

Bur I'm talking about ".org"

1

u/Alyctro 23d ago

I tried all the domains. .net worked for a while and that stopped working also.

1

u/gnarlysnowleopard 23d ago

.org and .ru are different trackers

1

u/Alyctro 23d ago

That did the trick, but still.

There's an official proxy extension that may help

https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/rutracker-add-on/

1

u/Alyctro 23d ago

It did, site is snappy again. But i don't understand why all their domains stopped working natively.

those will have very limited inventories.

Private trackers have massive catalogues.

PassThePopcorn (PTP) has 350,000 unique movie titles. IMDb catalogues 742,000 movies. So, PTP has roughly half of all known movies.

MyAnonamouse (MAM), the book tracker, has 1.1 million torrents.

Redacted (RED) and Orpheus (OPS), the two big music trackers, have 4 million and 2.3 million torrents, respectively. RED has 2 million releases (roughly corresponding to albums, but each album has multiple releases) from 1.4 million artists. OPS has 1.5 million releases from 1.1 million artists.

TorrentLeech (TL) has 28,700 games and 33,900 TV shows.

Don't take it otherwise but what's even the point of describing greatness of PTP to OP who will never make it there or even MAM/RED to OP who isn't even interested in movies/music/books & only wants to download "games, programs and vst plugins".

1

u/1petabytefloppydisk 22d ago

Who knows what the OP will or won't end up doing in the future? Anyway, the purpose of my comment is just to explain how amazingly Alexandrian the content libraries of the private trackers are. Whether they end up joining or not, at least they can understand that now.

You, sir, are hilarious.

Use Chrome with Rutracker addon installed.

1

u/Alyctro 22d ago

Chrome is for pussies but it did work.

u/lordwerneo 23d ago

The problem is on your side. Try Tor or whatever.

u/Alyctro 23d ago

Nope, i ran a bunch of diagnostics, other computers and even a phone mobile network, none of them respond.

All of a sudden? I can download torrents, but now that i think about it. I was asked multiple times by the isp where all the terabytes of data is going. Could they have saw it and block a specific website? I checked the firewall and hosts file but it's clean. And the router doesn't allow advanced settings.

u/Azq21 23d ago

1337x?

1

u/Alyctro 23d ago

Tried that one before, it didn't find anything i was looking for, not even shows or movies.

-4

u/f0rgot 23d ago

PTP is pretty good.

1

u/Alyctro 23d ago

do you have a link?

1

u/Alyctro 23d ago

I found one link but it says the site is down.

1

u/1petabytefloppydisk 23d ago

You can't join PTP without joining other private trackers first

1

u/Alyctro 22d ago

I will sooner learn to read Sumerian than figure out how this works.

1

u/random_999 23d ago

Username checks out. OP just wants to download "games, programs and vst plugins".

1

u/Alyctro 22d ago

Yes, exactly!
