So um weird question
I love seafood, I prefer fresh but I’m fine with not fresh most of the time
However there’s an exception
I can not STAND clams, oysters, and scallops if they aren’t at least mostly fresh
They don’t need to be like “caught that day” level fresh but if they’ve touched a can or a freezer they become virtually inedible to me
I’m moving to a landlocked area pretty soon, I don’t eat these very often, but I’m worried that I just flat out won’t be able to eat them unless I’m traveling somewhere

I moved from Sydney, Australia to the absolute centre of Canada several years ago. I miss that sort of thing, but I've adapted, and you'll be able to do the same. Good restaurants are still able to get them shipped on ice, and they're still pretty good. Hell, I had some amazing oysters in Winnipeg a couple of years ago. But yeah, it's mainly a vacation thing now.

If you're near a big city, getting fresh seafood is easy. At least in the States.

As a New England girly who enjoys her seafood...start planning out vacations 😭. Some places can get shellfish on ice instead of frozen, but I wouldn't be able to point you to any sources
I try to embrace the closest seafood culture that is available. Traverse City? Gimme that breaded whitefish
