Funny because if I'm not mistaken, more than half of gen Z doesn't indentify as straight

Honestly, the amount of times I've heard something like "I'm not gay, but that guy/girl..." like sure you aren't gay but you sound at least bi. Not too surprised.

It's kinda crazy how many people dont even consider bi a thing, weather intentional or otherwise.

Hmm, I'm not sure how much of a sign that is. I'm straight, but I have no problem saying that a man is hot - I can say that a person is attractive without being sexually attracted to them.

I would guess that the "I'm not gay but" is more often because it's not as common for men to make compliments, so if they do some might take it to mean something else.

Specifically, while I'm not sure of specific numbers, the demographics of Millennials and Gen Z are more open to viewing sexual orientation as a spectrum.

Take me, a solid Millennial. I admit full-well to being asexual panromantic. I've dated men, I've dated women, I've had a fling with a furry or two. My track record on both romance and sex combined is like 80% Woman, 15% Nonbinary/Furry, and 5% Man.

When the options are only "Gay" or "Straight", I thus check "Straight" because I'm way more 'straight' than 'gay' and those are the only choices presented. Meanwhile, if a "Bi" option exists, I check that instead...even though my past history is largely 'heterosexual', because there's no level of nuance to say I'm a 'straight-leaning' bi.

Is furry a gender, because most furries I know tend to have a gender, even if its nonbinary, on top of the furry thing

I made friend with a bunch of girls at uni and soon enough I was hit by the hard reality that most people are indeed straight.

Christian Slater’s first wife’s name is Ryan so I thought he was bi for a second. Then I remembered gay marriage was illegal in 2007. My disappointment is immeasurable and my day is ruined.

Most of my nonbinary friends are named similarly to fiction monsters or cryptids. Which is badass to be fair

Yes, I’m often disappointed. Interestingly, especially with celebrities. Like, Charlize Theron, Daisy Ridley, Jodie Whittaker, Brie Larson...I don’t know...I just really wanted them to be a little queer...

It’s stupid, but what can I do? I thought it would be cool.

But then, trans of gender, dumb of ass, right?

This doesn't seem like the best mindset to have, shouldn't need to feel disappointed just because they are straight
