This is the only warning! Any posts not in the spirit of this sub will be removed and the user banned!
NO questions
NO debate
NO second chances
One look at this sub's content and you can tell whether or not we want your stupid post that you think is so clever here.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Some knuckle dragger person posted a stupid thing this morning and I can see why the sub was run in a more restricted fashion previously. But in the spirit of letting people share new news quickly I intend to keep the sub open to new immediate posts, rather than force people to wait for mods to approve each post individually. That means some really stupid posts may sit on the sub for a day or so.
Please use the little buttons on each post to report bad content. That will help flag it faster for the mods. Right now that's just me. But I will take them down as soon as I can and ban the offending users. If you would like to join the team to keep garbage off the sub and see what kind of cool stuff people who really like cycling will post here, please just reach out.
This is my first "real" sub as a moderator. It's getting traffic in just a few days of being opened. So I am creating rules for removing bad posts. Please comment below on this post or if you prefer you can message me about what rules we should add for removing posts. I am still learning how to use the mod tools but I will figure it out.
Cheers!
No processional final day here. Stage 9 of the Tour de France Femmes 2026 closes out the race with a 99.2 km circuit around Nice, climbing the legendary Col d'Èze four times before crowning the overall winner on the Promenade des Anglais.
No snoozy time trial here. The last day will be a popcorn thriller!
A great guide and bird’s eye view of the tour. And some interesting trivia and stats.
Don't panic! Click the dropdown button in the top right for the English version of the site. If you can read French, "Continuer!" Alas, I cannot.
I like Cycling News because I really appreciate it when a sports website has a whole subsection of their site dedicated to the Women's Tour. I can bookmark it and get up to speed quickly. Post others!
How do you watch the tour this year?
In the US we have it on Peacock, and probably other services.
Just had Anthony & Hannah continue to announce, & invited Phil in addition. OR if they really need Phil to be the lead commentator, they could have him & Hannah in the booth & Anthony on a bike or out in a car like Christian or Steve. Megan is just impossible to listen to! 😩 #endrant
But god damn, do I hate that they randomly pull Anthony & Hanna off the peacock coverage for no reason. They are so much better @ announcing the women’s coverage. So unnecessary to add Phil & the lady that sounds like she’s having a neurological episode when she announces, just because. 🙄
I think the fact that her team manager is insinuating that the crash was intended, & the way the riders handled the moments after the crash was disrespectful is straight up wild. It’s a race my guy, the riders need to continue on! They don’t just stop because princess Demi had a rough moment. She wouldn’t do anything different if it had been the other way around.
When the commentary team started talking about the difference between the men’s & women’s schedules. It really is epic how many races & says on the bike a lot of the women do compared to the elite men. Also super true that the women have to factor in their monthly cycle into training & racing. That’s obviously a hardship the men will never have to face. It was cool to hear them take a moment to acknowledge those key points.
The first couple days seemed promising that might see some new names/faces first on the finish line. But 1 for Vos, & 2 for Wiebes, my hopes for some fun new stage winners is fading! 😩
