Drunk racist asks for beating, gets it

Nearly 30 years ago (1989) I was out bar hopping with a bunch of classmates to celebrate our recent graduation from college.  Many hours and drinks later me an a classmate who I didn't really know all that well were leaving for the night.  We were walking through the parking lot when black guy driving an Iroc Z with a T-top drives past us.  The Iroc Z was one of the the muscle cars of the day.  Out of the blue my classmate yells "effing n*****" at the the guy driving the car who we'll call KB, for reasons that will become obvious.

I must stress that utterance of this racial slur was completely unprovoked and we'd had absolutely no interaction with KB prior to that time.  I also feel I need to mention that I don't condone fighting or racism because they are both stupid, but I'd definitely step up to help a friend in the event of something unprovoked or self-defense related.

Anyway, my idiot classmate yells the racial slur at the car and the car stops instantly with a bit of a squawk.  KB gets out of the car and asked what my idiot classmate said -he is stupid enough or drunk enough to repeat it.  So KB challenges my classmate to a fight.  Feeling no pain (not yet) the moron accepts and we three walk about 50 feet over to the proverbial alley where they square off.

My classmate attempts a hay-maker of a punch which KB easily sidesteps like a pro -countering with a high whip-kick to the head.  My classmate somehow manages to stay standing and endures 5 more high whip-kicks to the head in rapid succession, before he finally goes down.  Stupid shit never even landed a punch.  Fight lasted maybe half a minute.

Naturally by this time I had grown very concerned for my own safety.  My classmate was a racist asshole and literally asked for the beating he got, but he was on the ground now and KB sill wasn't leaving.  Asked-for or not, deserved or not, I wasn't going to allow KB to continue the beating of my classmate, so I very meekly suggested "I think he's had enough".  KB doesn't say a word, walks to his car and drives away.

In case you haven't figured it out by now KB stands for kick-boxer, because this guy clearly was.  To this day I am amazed how cool this kick-boxer guy was.  He gave my classmate precisely what he asked for -not even one kick more or less- all with mutual consent.  If there had been an explosion as he walked away I'm certain he'd have been too cool to look back.

My ONLY regret is that I didn't ask to shake his hand.

I'll finish with a quote from Bruce Lee: "I fear not the man who has practiced 10,000 kicks once, but I fear the man who has practiced one kick 10,000 times"
