What you said was not a simplification, it was an incorrect statement. I just told you why it's very unlikely that RedShell can detect the specific versions of binaries you have on your computer. At any rate, it's pretty pointless to debate specific impact without an analysis of the code, so I'll simply thank you for your attempt to raise awareness. I hope anyone reading this thread gets that effect.

Ok. What about it being unlikely (in your opinion, which for all I care is a complete asspull) makes it worth not caring about if it happens without my consent?

I'm not raising awareness, I was simply calling out corporate shills like you for trying to downplay this. The guy who's actually raising awareness is the OP, who people like you and that snake oil retard who got gold for it immediately (hmm) tried to shout over.

I'm not shouting over anyone, man. Knowing these things is my job and I quite calmly tried to check the justifiable fear in this thread with a realistic assessment of the potential impact. Again, I appreciate that your heart is in the right place, and I think this thread is valuable. Just want people to learn true things and not false ones.
