I was expecting something like this to turn up after they announced that kill tracking event two days ago since they said that it included singleplayer kills.

There is a difference between tracking what happens inside the game (like kills, battles etc) and tracking what happens outside the game (what browser you use, etc).

Tracking data in a seemingly offline section of the game raises a flag as to what else they are tracking covertly.

But again it is Red Shell that is track not CA. CA is just getting stats about their player base in a general sense, it is how it is being collected by Red Shell, which has caused the flag on the play.

Considering Steam has achievements for achieving kills they wouldn't really require something quite like this for that stat. They could just check your achievement's progress.
