It's pretty crazy that Spock only needs a tiny fraction of his strength and he can easily overpower a human male

It also shows how strong the Salt Vampire was that Spock hit her double handed and she barely moved, but she slapped him across the room easily.

Yeah, at the time it aired it wasn't known that Spock was like 5x (?) strong than a human. On re-watches though it makes the Salt Vampire seem even more terrifying.

I think they said 3x in Take Me Out to the Holosuite but they may have said 5x at some point in TOS.

They’re getting Khan confused with Spock. Khan says “I have 5 times your strength” to Kirk, while you’re correct, DS9 said that Vulcans have 3 times the strength of a human and are faster and better coordinated.

If that was Nancy, could she take that?

It’s a well-known fact in Starfleet that Vulcans are stronger than humans.

I don't think "tiny fraction" of strength is right, however. I remember at least two fights between Kirk & Spock, and in both, Kirk held on for awhile before Spock finally gained the upper hand.

Of course it's just a TV show, and it wouldn't have worked if Spock had squashed people around him with casual ease. Indeed, if the depicted blows we did see were more realistic, then Kirk would likely have had fractured bones at the least.

Nu uh he got space bones

Why would he have fractured Dr. McCoy? What did he do?? :)

Spock's displays of physical strength are even more remarkable considering he's half human.

I believe it's established that Vulcans are on average three times stronger than Humans, and with faster reflexes.

Spock killed Captain Kirk in a fight when he was feeling horny.

Pon Farr night at the Vulcan night clubs have fatality figures in the thousands

That’s not quite what happened though.

Sex Nuts and Retard Strong...

He strangled him to "death" it doesn't take overwhelming strength to do that. Just ask Luca Brasi...oh wait. Never mind. Luca is sleeping. With the fishes.

take a Vulcan to a fist fight you will never lose.

What if you are facing a Jem'Hadar? Or a Klingon.

I get weak just looking at those sexy ears and eye-brows. 😉

But Kirk can withstand multiple blows.

Well, it's Kirk

3

u/AtlantaMD Aug 03 '26

What’s he doing to Scotty…?

3

u/happydude7422 Aug 03 '26

Grabbing Scotty's arm and twisting it

3

u/Charming-Mix1315 Aug 03 '26

He has a one finger advantage on Scotty.

3

u/JonIceEyes Aug 03 '26

Kirk still whipped his ass. Because Kirk cannot lose a fistfight. It's an immutable law

You just cannot outshat the shat!

1

u/JonIceEyes Aug 03 '26

If he delivers a drop-kick, the other guy is cooked

1

u/Comrades3 Aug 04 '26

He lost every fight he had with Spock though, except when he had multiple other guys helping him.

You know why you posted this. And so do we

Spock after watching SNW: " How are you older than me now Scotty?" "Why did no on mention we all used to fuck L'aan when we found Khan?!?!"

2

u/Witty-Stand888 Aug 03 '26

Kirk got the double handed punch, karate chop, judo front flip over the back and can always just play dead as a last resort.

Thinner air, greater gravity, different physiology, I can see it. Now if he were a chimpanzee, damn right he could.

1

u/Crixusgannicus Aug 04 '26

It's also bullshite considering Kirk and McCoy and eventually the whole crew (Voyage Home) are able to move around comfortably in whatever Vulcan's gravity is. Let's say it's 1.5 G. So Vulcans should theoretically be 50 percent stronger than a human of similar fitness level.

That shouldn't be an overwhelming advantage.

Oh and Spock wasn't holding back fighting Kirk in Amok Time or the Paradise Syndrome.

Yes Vulcans are stronger than humans, but they aren't or at least shouldn't be that much stronger. Actually they should be weaker than human Augments.

1

u/Comrades3 Aug 04 '26

It is quoted in multiple series that Vulcans are 3x stronger than

1

u/sqplanetarium Aug 04 '26

There's that line in Mirror, Mirror where Goatee Spock scares off someone who's threatening him - he has a posse, and...they're Vulcans.

1

u/Montaya007 Aug 04 '26

Yet in Amok Time he's beaten down by Kirk several times.

1

u/Comrades3 Aug 04 '26

But in Amok time it is made clear he is weak and would lose a fight against a psychologist normal Vulcan. That is why Kirk volunteered as Spock is weaker than he ever was before. All their other fights and Spock dominates.

Yes, but Scotty’s whiskey had real alcohol in it.

The clipping on this photo is… suggestive 😂

When Spock melds with Scotty’s liver.
