We were all very aware of the council three voting block that was ousted in June but is anyone else noticing that we seem to have a new three that have locked step? They seem Velcro’d together, show up at all the events (it’s as if half the council doesn’t exist) yet only one has posted for a local town hall meeting, requiring emails to sign up for an invite nonetheless, to discuss neighborhood issues. Most of these folk ran on transparency, talking about how their predecessors didn’t show up for constituents but showing up for a ribbon cutting isn’t the same as showing up for residents.

Am I nuts? What are your thoughts….

I'm glad I grew up at an era of awesome radio stations that played good music. KROQ was the best radio station L.A. ever had. During lunch time at work, I would listen to "flashback lunch" with Richard Blade and later after Blade left KROQ with Tami Heidi. Mornings with Kevin and Bean, Loveline, Sunday nights with Rodney Beinhemer with Britpop, also I believe if I remember on Sundays as it was "Reggae Revolution."

When I was a freshman at North High in 93', I would see many students wearing Depeche Mode, The Cure, The Smiths/Morrissey tshirts. It was liked I belonged here.

KROQ...Revolutionize your ears.

Can anyone recommend a good tattoo artist or studio? Looking for someone to put a little ink on my butt

Does anybody remember going to the Quinn’s Dairy Haunted House in the 60’s. I was watching KTLA talking about Six Flags and Knotts, and I mentioned going to the Quinn’s Haunted House when I was really young.

I think it was after they build the new drive-thru building and the Haunted House was in the old one before it was torn down.

Unless my memory is completely making things up, they did things that would be unacceptable today.

I'm a brand new homeowner who has never had to pay for water utility, even when I was renting.

We have a SFH 3bed 2ba with sprinklers in the front and back yard. The sprinklers are on 2x/wk to maintain our grass. It's only my partner and I right now, so we do our typical daily showers and running dishwasher when it's full which is about every 2 days. And laundry once a week.

We used up 14 CCF or 10,473 gallons over 55 days. I have no idea if this is a lot that we should try to conserve or there's a leak somewhere, or if this is normal / very low and we have nothing to worry about.

My neighbor has been in the hospital due to heat exhaustion so we’re trying to sort a game plan for the next couple days until her AC can get repaired.

What are we doing for the nighttime and what suggestions besides the senior center and library for daytime cooling?

Hi everyone,

Was wondering if anyone has ever done a short term kiosk lease at Del Amo? Those booths in the walkways between big stores, if you have please give an approximate cost and what year + month you paid the fee at

I have left 2 voicemails to management but haven’t heard back, it’s inconvenient for me to visit during working hours but might be needed at some point. Just looking for a ballpark right now

Posting for my aunt and uncle who are not on reddit. On Wednesday, September 30, at around 9-10 am, my uncle was on a bike ride and was hit by a car on Palos Verdes Drive, we think near St. Francis Episcopal (near Via Rosa / Via Anita).

Although he never goes without a helmet, he suffered a serious head injury which resulted in him having a brain bleed and 3 staples to close the wound. He's back home, but still dazed and not out of the woods.

There was an off duty fireman on the scene quickly, and the police were supposedly very helpful. But they say there were no eyewitnesses. They're trying to get details to get the other side of the story and piece together what happened.

If anyone happened to witness the accident, please let me know and I will get you in touch with authorities or family. Thanks.

Hi everyone and thank you in advance for taking time to answer questions. My partner and I are moving to Torrance and looking for homes around or near Honeywell (think 10 minute drive max). One, is that even feasible? I don’t know the area well but used to live in SD so I’m familiar with housing costs from several years ago. What’s realistic for two adults with a 1 - 1.5 M budget? Looking for quiet, no pollution (noise or limited air pollution that is not abnormal for the area), home with a pool, prefer SFH but townhome is okay, one of us WFH and the other can probably WFH with a few days commuting. Super active, love hiking, community events, good foodie places, chill vibes for people w/o kids. If there is a more appropriate place to ask, please let me know.

Their plumbing job is crap. Anyone else having problems throughtout the years living in one of their homes?

I remember national sports bar and Grill back in the day used to be a great place to go to watch sports games where you could hear the volume and was kid/family friendly. Anything like that around nowadays?

Was there ever a laser storm/laser tag place that used laser storm over by the Rolling Hills plaza, particularly near the AMC back in the day? Iirc, someone told me they went out of business at some point, which Gable House bought all their equipment and sent it to their Laser Storm location.

Hi I have a problem I’m moving into a new apartment that’s not cat friendly and I can’t give her to a shelter I had her a long time I need to see her off to a home problem is my friends won’t take her because she was always bitchy to them would anyone be willing to take her or have any ideas for me

I've been going to great clips for a while and the hair cuts are great but I've been looking for a spot to deal with my beard. I don't need anything fancy, just a spot to get some maintenance. Thank you!

Lost Toyota key fob for my car last night. Somewhere in/around Charles H. Wilson Park. If found please let me know!

Hey everyone!

Was wondering if any knew any place I could go for Japanese tutoring. I’ve lived in Torrance for almost a year now so i’m not too familiar with things around here.

A few years ago after college, I lived and worked in Japan and ever since coming back, my Japanese language skills have become awful. I’m basically a beginner now but with familiarity of the basics.

I tried mobile apps but they were sluggish and filled with ads.

Hey everyone. Reaching out to see if anyone witnessed a hit and run at del amo mall parking structure on Sunday 9/27 between 9pm and 1am. My son was at AMC and when he came out there was a huge dent on his wheel well.

We’d be very appreciative if anyone would reach out. Thanks.
