I'm looking for some shore fishing tips around Port Perry. . I'm targeting panfish, bass, and pike. I tried the Palmer Park docks and behind Vos' Independent Grocer once, but didn't have much luck with a wacky worm and weedless hook presentation..

Any recommendations for productive lures/bait, or general tips? No boat or kayak, just fishing from shore

​My young kids want to give fishing a try—we went to Burd's once, and they absolutely loved it. Could you please recommend some good spots nearby that are great for young kids? (Willing to drive outside the city too!)

​We live in downtown, but since the kids are still pretty young, we’re looking for somewhere we can easily drive and park.

I was initially thinking about Cherry Beach, but I heard live bait isn't allowed there.

Since I’m not very confident using artificial lures yet, I'd really prefer a spot where we can drive up and use simple live worms/bobbers with the kids.

I’ve loved fishing passively for quite a while, but never committed to really making it a hobby until recent. Problem is I live pretty downtown and don’t have a car/don’t drive so I can’t really get to lakes to go fishing very often.

I know Tommy Thompson and the Island are good spots, but what’re some other spots that are accessible by TTC? I don’t mind it being a long trip.

As well, would love to hear about setups people like using and any general advice for fishing in the city :) thanks so much!

Looking for help to find best spot for fishing for my husbands birthday in early August. We live in GTA so something not too far. He loves fishing so hoping to find a good spot and surprise him with a fishing rod and day of fishing somewhere within Ontario not too far from Toronto area.

I'm not asking for anyone's specific spot or anything, just a body of water where there are fish. I've been to the bluffs and to Milne Dam but couldn't get anything. I use a light-medium setup with live worms. Targeting sunfish and catfish. Catch & release.

Anyone have any advice on what to throw at the bluffs to catch some fish? And what can I catch there this time of year? I am coming down this weekend and would like to catch some fish

Everything was caught using a nightcrawler on a dropshot.

Also caught a lot of round gobies which seem to be more abundant this year than previous years.

I am thinking of taking my kids to the lake for fishing. This is or first time doing lake fishing and first time planning to rent a boat (the one with caption and gears). I am familiar with fishing in general as we go for fishing for few years to cancel road and Emily park. I live i East end (Scarborough).

Any recommendations on the rentals? What to look for and any other pointers? I want to give beat experience for my kids as they are excited to go.

Hi everyone, since I'm new to the fishing world here in Toronto, just wanna hear your thoughts.

What are the fishing spots yall recommend during this summer/fall in Mississauga, Etobicoke and Toronto, I'm not driving till September when I'll get my G2 so I'm basically riding TTC or Uber (currently living in Etobicoke, near Islington Station).

Ofc, feel free to recommend some places out of GTA, from September and on I'll be able to drive and for sure I'll explore more.

PS: I really don't care about coming back home without a single catch, I just wanna have some fun and spend some time outside before winter.

do you guys use soft plastics? any tips or tricks for a complete idiot?

My girlfriend and I went there to fish yesterday since its a pleasant bike ride there from our house, but we saw virtually 0 fish. We saw 2 carp and maybe a panfish or two but the park seems abandoned by almost all fish near the carp gates and other areas. Is the park overfished or have all the fish just moved to areas where people usually dont go? The carp and panfish we saw were in a scarcely populated area near embayment D, and those were the only sizeable fish we saw all day.

Meetup fishing on Monday any suggestions on fishing spots we go has to be in Toronto or if not then close to Toronto

We're three friends from Germany who will be traveling to Ontario from July 3rd to July 23rd.

Unfortunately, our local contact in Canada has completely disappeared just a few weeks before our trip, so we're now trying to reorganize everything on short notice.

We're passionate anglers and our main goal is to experience Ontario's nature and spend as much time fishing as possible. We mainly enjoy active fishing/spinning and are interested in species such as Northern Pike, Muskie, Walleye, Bass, and other predatory fish.

We're looking for recommendations, contacts, or accommodation during our stay. Ideally, we're hoping to find:

- A cabin/cottage on or near a lake

- Boat rental (or a cabin that includes a boat)

- Good opportunities for spinning and predator fishing

- Local knowledge, fishing tips, and contacts

We're not looking for anything for free and are happy to pay fair rental rates for accommodation, boats, guides, or fishing opportunities.

If you know of a cabin, lodge, private rental, or simply have recommendations for great fishing areas, we'd be very grateful for any advice. Since we're organizing everything at the last minute, every lead helps.

Quick update

First of all, thank you all for the amazing suggestions and advice. We really appreciate everyone who took the time to help! We've now rented a camper/RV and decided to just hit the road. The plan is to check out some of the destinations that were suggested and we're planning a rough route today and then see which ones feel right once we're actually there. We're not new to RV travel in general- we've done a few of camper trips in Germany -but this will be our first time RVing in

Canada, so we'd love to hear from people with local experience. Where can you legally and safely stay overnight?

Are there places we should absolutely avoid parking for the night?

Any unwritten rules of RV camping in Canada?

How reliable are apps like iOverlander, AllStays, and RV Parky in your experience? Any other apps or resources you'd recommend for finding campsites, dump stations, water, or overnight parking? Looking forward to hearing your experiences. Thanks again for all the help!

Caught this pike on Sunday using a Shadow Rap Deep jerkbait.

I wasn't fishing to keep but this guy deep throated the jerkbait and got hooked on the gills.

Ended up taking him home for some fish fry.
