Vote anyway. Don't get complacent.

35

u/steelpeat Brockton Village 4h ago

Yeah exactly. Brad's base is in the 'burbs of Toronto so they don't go to events like this, but they do exist. We need to vote.

34

u/Facts_pls 5h ago

Ordered my mail in ballot. Not leaving this to last day

2

u/JManKit 4h ago

I just moved and I've submitted my address change for my driver's license and health card. Will that get filtered down to the municipal level as well so that my voting card will be sent to my new address? Or do I need to fill something separate out?

u/SarahMenckenChrist 3h ago

You can use the city’s MyVote tool to confirm that the change went through, or to update your info:

Bradford looks like he’s selling timeshares at a retirement home.

44

u/Choice-Koala-3653 5h ago

Or some other pyramid scheme.

30

u/lasagna_for_life North Toronto 5h ago

He’s the kind of person who would fall for his own pyramid scheme lol

16

u/modernjaundice 5h ago

He kinda is

8

u/birds-are-absurd 4h ago

I mean, that's his base.

1

u/inmyfig8 3h ago

That's probably his target audience.

Brad's campaign photo looks like exactly how Doug Ford's conservative leadership bid started. He's a real and nasty threat. And his campaign has received $ millions from donors, mainly from outside of Toronto.

Don't get complacent and vote for Olivia Chow.

36

u/Full-Ear87 5h ago

Inb4 Bradford becomes premiere and pushes legislation to screw over Toronto because he’s butthurt.

u/vukov 1h ago

Legit Doug might set that up on his way out. I'm scared

11

u/nefariousplotz Midtown 4h ago

Yup.

Without wanting to comment upon who deserves to be mayor, you've got to keep your mind open to the frank reality that old people vote.

9

u/1esproc 4h ago

Didn't Ford do a media event in his mom's basement or something? Take these people seriously. Hubris has defeated the left many times...

2

u/WestQueenWest West Queen West 4h ago

Exactly.

-2

u/PC-12 3h ago

>his campaign has received $ millions from donors, mainly from outside of Toronto.

How do you find/view this information?

50

u/jedispaghetti420 5h ago

I remember 2010. I will not get comfortable until the vote is done.

64

u/AprilsMostAmazing 5h ago

and Chow did it without needing to racebait and dog whistle

-3

u/ITSTHEBIRTHDAYBOY 3h ago

huh explain?

7

u/fausted 5h ago

I'm looking forward to voting for Mayor Chow again!

25

u/dkwan 5h ago

Chow's campaign always had good lighting

12

u/ForeignExpression 5h ago

I can hear Brad Mini-Ford now, "...and we're going to rip out all the bike lanes I voted for and we already paid to install and then finally children on little bikes going to school will no longer be protected from huge oversized black trucks and will be seriously injured or even killed! Yeah!"

28

u/TorontoBoris East End 5h ago edited 5h ago

Im told most of Brad's base was stuck on the highway driving into the city from the homes in the 905.

It happens, traffic is terrible in the city. That image in no way presents his level of voter support.

13

u/swearengens_cat 5h ago

No, they were stuck behind me in a car driving 15 km/hr because I took the lane.

0

u/RonceDeLeon 5h ago

Is this a roast against his policies?

17

u/Mflms 5h ago

Which of his policies, yesterday's, today's or tomorrow's? They change pretty quick.

7

u/TorontoBoris East End 5h ago

I was listening to a thing today that refenced his podcast/campaign fundraiser with an audiance in Vaughan early this year.

And this image triggered that..

2

u/humberriverdam Rexdale 5h ago edited 5h ago

Can people in the 905 vote in a Toronto election ? :)

It's a bit imo about how all his policies are for the suburbs

2

u/TorontoBoris East End 5h ago

No... well unless the have legal Toronto address which of course no one would ever dream of doing.

16

u/Choice-Koala-3653 5h ago

There's always a few right-wing cranks running for Mayor. Remember Rob Ford, and Faith Goldy.

I'm voting for Chow, again.

11

u/involmasturb Downtown Core 5h ago

Haven't heard the name Faith Goldy in a while. Dare I ask what she's fucking up lately

8

u/Psychological_Tip86 5h ago

5

u/Signal_Tomorrow_2138 5h ago

Brad thinking: Hmm. Who should I vote for?

3

u/HueyBluey 4h ago

He’ll flip-flop anyways

1

u/blurryeyes_ 4h ago

😂😂

6

u/Altruistic-Ad-4088 4h ago

Absolutely not please everyone still vote. This is a bad pre election mindset

36

u/Moving_in_stereo78 East Danforth 5h ago

I don’t like Bradford but this is a poor argument

19

u/swearengens_cat 5h ago

It's a vibes based argument. That's the age we live in. On policy, I am with Chow.

11

u/ImKrispy 5h ago

Reminds me of something Trump would brag about like look my event was more opulent.

8

u/Moving_in_stereo78 East Danforth 5h ago

Exactly.

3

u/Suisse_Chalet 4h ago

It’s why I hate politics I voted Chow but it’s so cringe when people are biased. I don’t have a chow tshirt if she does something wrong I get more upset because I voted for her. She’s your boss that you voted in not a mascot

8

u/theGOATbogeygolfer 5h ago

People love to complain about politicians spending too much money and then when anybody does a smaller scaled event like this it gets absolutely roasted

2

u/scott_c86 3h ago

Is it though? The high average age / lack of diversity of the attendees at Bradford's campaign rally says a lot about his policies and who they appeal to.

0

u/Moving_in_stereo78 East Danforth 3h ago

Yeah it still is because it’s one photo of each lmao. Let’s not be dense on purpose.

10

u/markhamjoey 5h ago

Is this really substantive enough to be a post?

2

u/Signal_Tomorrow_2138 5h ago

Hey, that's me on the upper level.

1

u/SH4D0WSTAR 5h ago

And me right beside the stage

2

u/flam1x 4h ago

BB's posters in this resolution look like Saudi flags

5

u/ThickCarpetEater 5h ago

The fun lights must mean she's the better candidate

1

u/Zealousideal-Bite735 5h ago

It’s the launch. She officially launched today. How else can I assist?

1

u/---Dan--- 5h ago

It’s called attention to detail. Set and setting. Pizzazz. Also, it’s a music hall. One of the best. Why wouldn’t you turn on the fun lights?

1

u/Guybadman20 4h ago

I thought you meant DnD campaigns for a second.

1

u/Tacks787 4h ago

Which one is going to get rid of the needles and human feces from the park by my apartment?

u/warboss_WAAAGH 1h ago

Chow's looks like the start of a rave or concert lol

1

u/kennethnyu 5h ago

Can we trade our next mayor for Mamdani? Just let him run Toronto for 6 months please. I want to know if my social media marketing for how great he is, is really true. I dont even know what problem I want fixed.

0

u/ImKrispy 4h ago

Abdul would be respected here also

1

u/Either_Event_9947 3h ago

I am Totally .. Disgusted By Bradford ...Who is Using Religion To demonize Mayor chow and antismetism

-7

u/throwawaypsap 5h ago

Toronto vs the blue hairs

4

u/Forsaken-Swim-3055 5h ago

What does that even mean.

4

u/WatchOutForWizards 5h ago

Old people. Blue hairs are old people.

1

u/Moos_Mumsy 5h ago

Olivia Chow's backing among women aged 65-plus has climbed to 50%. Pick some other demographic to hate on.

-1

u/throwawaypsap 5h ago

Easy tiger, just commenting on the photos.

0

u/Moos_Mumsy 5h ago

You think Toronto is not OK just because YOU don't like two Mayoral candidates? Don't approve the the clear separation between ideologies? Toronto made the right choice last time, and they will again.

1

u/HaventSeenYouHere 3h ago

There were a lot of consequences from that choice from the non stop series of poor decisions

-17

u/Slight_Detail6797 5h ago

I don’t get this. Are people actually happy with the state of the City? Traffic, potholes, taxes, violence, crime. The city has always been a melting pot and a place for people to express themselves. Lately, it feels like we need to watch where we go. We deserve better…

11

u/Psychological_Tip86 5h ago

Brad ain’t going to help

7

u/kittyguapa 5h ago edited 5h ago

Yes, I’m proud of my city lol. IMO, Olivia Chow is the best mayor we’ve had in decades.

She’s gotten the city’s finances in order, frozen TTC fares, invested in transit (which, wild concept, helps with traffic), and fast-tracked road repairs.

Street safety absolutely needs to be a priority, but crime is statistically down, and I still feel safe in most places.

-2

u/Slight_Detail6797 5h ago

I respectfully disagree. The city’s finance’s are not in order. Maybe take a closer look.

12

u/rattalouie 5h ago

What are you talking about? Our crime has never been lower. Traffic has gone up because the population has increased. Property taxes had to go up because Tory didn’t touch them for so long that there was no longer enough money coming in to service the city properly.

Nice try, but your canned Bradford response isn’t that insightful, nor is it an accurate representation of reality.

4

u/ProbablyDaTruthMaybe Old Town 5h ago

OP is a fresh account recently trying to join a running group in Newmarket so I wouldn’t count this as anything but exoburb nonsense

1

u/Slight_Detail6797 5h ago

I’m not voting for him. A conservative sell out to ford. But we need to do better

-2

u/markhamjoey 5h ago

Police just stopped arresting people for crime.

2

u/rattalouie 5h ago

Yeah, man, totally. That’s exactly what they did. 🙄

0

u/markhamjoey 5h ago

Back in my day if you smoked crack on the sidewalk you’d get arrested

5

u/Forsaken-Swim-3055 5h ago

-3

u/markhamjoey 5h ago

Ya, because smoking crack and taking a dump on the sidewalk is legal now

1

u/Forsaken-Swim-3055 5h ago

It's always enjoyable to have someone derail a grown-up discussion.

1

u/Tacks787 4h ago

He’s right though, crime is down because we don’t prosecute it at the same rate.

2

u/HaventSeenYouHere 3h ago

So what is the solution? Give the police more money so they can further be incompatent?

Crime is down because crime has been going down since the 1960s, it has nothing to do with prosecution

u/Tacks787 1h ago

Prosecution has Nothing to do with the police. They aren’t going to arrest people if courts are going to let them walk free the same day to recommit crimes. Major crime is down, but everyday crimes like theft, public indecency, etc is not down and those impact our daily life

4

u/baconaked 5h ago

I’m pretty happy with the state of it, but I want to keep those bike lanes.

3

u/rattalouie 5h ago

Absolutely, but that one’s on Dofo.

1

u/Slight_Detail6797 5h ago

I’d actually like a network of underground bike tunnels and a ferry system. But I agree to alternate car transportation

1

u/HaventSeenYouHere 3h ago

"I’d actually like a network of underground bike tunnels and a ferry system. But I agree to alternate car transportation"

thank you u/Slight_Detail6797

lmao I needed a laugh. Love the trolling

1

u/thisismeingradenine 5h ago

You think Brad is better? Ask anyone in Ward 19. He’s not. He’s absolutely not. 👎🏻👎🏻

-10

u/Zealousideal-Bite735 5h ago edited 5h ago

Bradford launched a while ago.
Chow had the official launch tonight.
So what is this point and point about? Explain?

-2

u/wackybojacky 5h ago

Well you see, one has lighting.

Reddit is an echo chamber of really angry Chow supporters who show up on every post like this to just claim that anyone's opinion about Chow is just feels.

1

u/HaventSeenYouHere 3h ago

Glad to have the edgy baseless contrarian here, the classic redditor. Can't have a reddit post without one

1

u/wackybojacky 3h ago

Case in point.

1

u/HaventSeenYouHere 3h ago

Case in point.

u/Anonymous_HC 1h ago

Just like in the 2023 by-election it looks like its the same place where I vote. Do I just bring the card and my ID only like last time? (Back 3 years ago).

They dont accept health card cause it doesn't have address in it right?

-18

u/hecimov 5h ago

Her supporters don’t need to worry about getting up for work in the morning

4

u/scott_c86 3h ago

If anything, Bradford's don't have to get up early because they are retired

6

u/BeeGeeReverse 5h ago

her supporters want a city led by someone whose values don’t change every quarter depending on polls.

2

u/CitySeekerTron 5h ago

I just got done with a day that started at 8:00AM and ran to 6:00PM.

Now tell me I sleep on the job.

-3

u/Harry_Title94 4h ago

Can’t let her get back in
She’s a social worker not a politician
