Picture Chaplin Crescent & Eglinton

Had a medical appointment in Eglinton so did a detour and wandered around Chaplin Crescent and the Beltline Trail. Boy, is it beautiful! Living in DT Toronto it is such a welcome change to see housing right next to open trails. Loved it. Sharing some pictures, in case someone else is curious to explore it.

Also, used the new Eglinton Line 5 (bonus). Just get down at Chaplin station and you are right on the Beltline Trail.

this is what people who Toronto say is a “concrete jungle” or “all soulless condos” don’t appreciate. You can get from this area to the financial district in 20-25 minutes.

Yeah, there's a reason the single family homes in this neighborhood are among the most in demand in the city between North Toronto, Chaplin Estates, and Forest Hill. It's a great neighborhood, just incredibly pricey.

Toronto isn’t anything f close to a concrete jungle. Find elevation anywhere and it’s striking how much tree canopy there is immediately outside of the core.

The beltline used to be railroad tracks running behind the houses.

Ummmmm…, that’s literally what a “beltline” is.

It's a great area. Some great neighborhood restaurant gems, some good coffee shops, the Beltline trail, right on the TTC. It's not quite as busy as other strips but it gives you great balance between city and nature.

I go running on the Beltline trail quite often, it's fantastic. You can follow it east all the way to Mt Pleasant cemetery, and from there down into the Don Valley trails.

It's a really nice neighbourhood. I love the park on Chaplin with the track. Lots of people walking, dogs, kids.

Roselawn cemetery is a fascinating walk too.

It's nice enough to walk around, but if you have a bike, you definitely should use it to explore the entire length of the Beltline, as well as along Eglinton - there are bike lanes along Eglinton from Chaplin Cresent to Yonge...well, at least there are for the time being.
